Novelty Lights 5 Feet 10 Bulbs Vintage Short Mini Light String, UL Listed

I needed a short string of lights for my star. The string worked as described and provided lovely bright lights for out Christmas tree star.

Needed these for my older Hallmark light and motion ornaments. Just right for adding to my Christmas tree that came with lights (that cannot be used for the ornaments). In most cases I still needed to use the light string adapter with my older ornament (Hallmark made them years ago and is no longer manufactured. I have seen them on Etsy and eBay at very high mark ups from the original $1.50 price)

Updated: The connectors do not match the legacy hallmark ornaments like the 90's Star Trek ones, the ornament plug is too big and a Hallmark proprietary plug. Search you tube for "Use your old mini light ornaments with newer mini light sets" and you'll find the video by Chris' Corner that shows how to swap the ends so that the ornament will plug directly into this light set. I chose to also buy a 6V AC transformer to power, and use this light set as a parts kit to make a plug with wires that connects the ornament directly to the 6V AC transformer without damaging the ornament. Best solution I found besides paying over 180 bucks for a legacy Hallmark cord on eBay. Good buy!

I have been using these for only 2 weeks so cannot comment on durability yet. Good quality and useful where want to only light up a smaller attraction than a longer string would require. Thanks!

Worked for a project

Be sure to review the length of the product and distance between each bulb. Simply needing a string of 10 lights for a project is not enough info. Do your homework if this is for something specific. Learn from my failure to ask enough questions and find out details. I bought this string as a replacement for a string that went out and it has rattan ball covers on the lights. This replacement string is the perfect brightness for mood lighting, but it is too short and the lights are too close together. It looks ridiculous 😂

I had a Xmas decoration that dated back decades. The lights went out on it. I loved it so much that I didn’t want to get rid of it. I was ever so grateful to find a plug-in string of 10 lights. Didn’t think they made them anymore. The lights came fast; and I switched out the bad set for my new ones. The lights fit into the slots perfectly and I salvaged my antique Christmas decor.

BEWARE: The moment I plugged these in to test them, I felt bulbs growing hot. After 20-30 seconds, they were almost too hot to touch so I immediately unplugged them, filled out a return request & wrote this review! Who knew it would be so difficult to find short “old-school” light string to supplement my new LED tree? Have approximately 6 Hallmark Magic motion/light/sound ornaments compatible with a traditional miniature light string push-in & NOT their special “magic cord.” (Think they pre-date it; Included pic of ornament connection.) Special 10 light strand to power a few special ornaments is not worth potentially starting a fire! Especially when it cost $15—I’ll just use 50 light strand I got for $2 from Target & just wind excess around interior poles. Bummed my Wizard of Oz melting wicked witch & Munchkinland “…not in Kansas…” will just have to wait, or take a year off maybe…
