I just tried it for the first time today and... for the first time my feet became wet. Previously, I water/snow proofed with mink oil and never had a problem. The grease is better for reconditioning old leather but as waterproof? No. I'd recommend mink oil. **Q: Is it ok to apply over stitching? Will it affect in a negative way, the rubber sole of the boot if contacted? Does it come with an applicator?** A: It will protect the stitching as well as the leather, no negative effect to the boot or sole in any way. The shoe grease will protect the threading from soaking in water or getting dirty. No applicator comes with it, I highly recommend you use your finger to apply it on your boot. As you rub your finger over the shoe grease, it will become liquid like.
