As a fan of Japanese culture and beverages, I recently had the pleasure of trying the ITO EN Japanese Barley Tea Kaori Kaoru, and it's safe to say that it left a lasting impression. First and foremost, the packaging exudes elegance and simplicity, which is characteristic of many Japanese products. The tea bags are individually wrapped, ensuring freshness and convenience. The design reflects the attention to detail that is synonymous with Japanese craftsmanship. Upon brewing, the aroma is what truly stands out. The "Kaori Kaoru" (fragrance and flavor) aspect of this tea lives up to its name. The scent is subtly nutty and earthy, evoking a sense of tranquility and comfort. It's a wonderful departure from typical herbal teas and a delightful journey into the world of roasted barley. Taste-wise, this barley tea is both soothing and refreshing. It has a mild, toasty flavor profile with just a hint of sweetness, making it a perfect companion for both warm and cold servings. It's worth noting that this tea is naturally caffeine-free, which makes it suitable for sipping throughout the day or in the evening without any concerns about sleep disruption. The ITO EN Japanese Barley Tea Kaori Kaoru is not just a delightful beverage; it also boasts potential health benefits. Barley tea is known for its antioxidants and potential digestive aid properties. While it may not be a miracle elixir, it certainly adds to the appeal of this tea as a health-conscious choice. However, there's one caveat to be aware of: the tea bags are on the small side, and if you prefer a stronger brew, you might need to use multiple bags or steep them for a longer time. This isn't a major issue, but it's something to keep in mind if you enjoy a bolder flavor. In conclusion, ITO EN Japanese Barley Tea Kaori Kaoru is a delightful and aromatic tea that offers a genuine taste of Japan. Whether you're a seasoned tea connoisseur or just someone looking to explore new flavors, this tea is worth a try. Its elegance, soothing qualities, and potential health benefits make it a standout choice among barley teas. So, sit back, relax, and let the fragrant essence of Japan take you on a sensory journey with each sip.

This is really tasty! One bag makes a a liter/litre of tea, and you can drink it hot and/or keep the rest in the refrigerator and enjoy it cold. Healthy, delicious and non-caffeinated - so great to enjoy in the later part of the day, and still get a good night's sleep!

Love this tea! A Chinese friend of mine served it to us when we visited and I ordered some right there! It has no ‘bite’ on your tongue when you drink it. Just a nice, mild tea flavor. A bit of honey or creamer would be nice in it too, but it’s very good just plain!

Barley tea is steamed and roasted barley grain, coarsely ground in these teabags. It has no caffeine. Unlike tea from leaves or flowers, it is extracted in boiling water, or it can be cold-brewed by soaking in the refrigerator. The product name 'kaori kaoru,' or 'aromatic fragrance,' refers to its 'savory, toasty, and fragrant nature' (g00gle AI) due to high-temperature steaming and double roasting. The directions on the package are all in Japanese. Following clues in the illustrations, I simmered one bag in 10 fl oz of water for 10 minutes. The brew is dark and the aroma is similar to Japanese restaurant barley tea but with a slight coffee-like edge.
