## Description

This 60 by 10 yard roll of Yupo Polypropylene is pH neutral and features a smooth finish. Waterproof, stain resistant and incredibly strong, Polypropylene is perfect for offset printing, silkscreen and debossing. In addition watercolor professionals have found this surface to be very receptive for a variety of techniques. Made in the USA. 74 lb.

Review: Yupo is amazing!!! Great packaging. - This stuff is awesome! I'm using Turner Acryl Gouache on it and it's a dream to work with. It takes the paint amazingly, no beading. It doesn't buckle like paper would when using wet media and the surface texture is super fine like a fine panel or clay board. Paint takes a little longer to dry because there are not any fibers to absorb water. Because it has no fibers, I'm finding I'm using a lot less paint which is a plus! The surface has an almost vellum quality too it without the hassle of actually working on vellum. The fine surface texture allows for really fine detail work as well. The closest thing I can think of that resembles the working properties of Yupo is painting on diebond with a really nice fine gesso on it- with the Yupo being cheaper, no need to prime, you can cut it with scissors or a blade instead of a saw, and you don't run the risk of cutting yourself on it like the aluminum edge of diebond. The packaging for the roll was really impressive as well. It's on a thick cardboard tube with a thick plastic sheath around it and end caps that you can use to wrap it back up when you're finished cutting your piece. This is sort of a miracle ground for acrylic painters and I'm really happy I took the leap and bought a roll of it blind. Awesome stuff!
Review: Good Savings, Ragged Edge - I like the $$ savings by buying the roll, but it is very difficult to maneuver and cut. I thought I'd be able to measure and cut from a nice straight edge but mine came with a very ragged and uneven edge. There was some product waste trying to get the edge even before I could even begin to cut pieces out for painting.

A: I'm not sure if this answers your question but thought I'd provide you with the full description from the manufacturer: An ultra-smooth, slick, incredibly strong, non-porous polypropylene substrate that repels water. Work in several different mediums to achieve unique and creative results. Painting or drawing on this surface will require some adjustments by the artist. The surface may be wiped clean to restore the original white of the sheet, making it an excellent surface for beginners or for advanced and experimental artists wanting to capture nuances, patterns, and shapes. Yupo exhibits a unique lifting quality so it is possible to redo specific areas over and over again, or build up layers of paint like an oil painter working on a canvas, and then take them off to reveal the white of the sheet. Remember that water activates the paint, even paint put down months ago. Allow YUPO to dry completely. Spray YUPO with a finishing spray to seal and protect it. A: I haven't needed anything and they've been holding up fine. If you're using the sticks then you would but paint and watercolors adhere just fine.
