Absolute MIRACLE product!
This is one of the best purchases I think I've ever made. I've used it on a bunch of earrings so far, some of which were sterling silver, though I've had beautiful results on every material I've used it on. In addition to my naturally tarnished items, I had some jewelry that had been pretty badly messed up by an awful jewelry cleaner I once used (literally one swipe of that stuff had silver jewelry looking matte grey and ugly), and I honestly believed there was no saving some of the pieces. I'm so happy I found this product - everything that I've used it on so far looks good as new. The instructions say to apply it with a soft cloth, but because the items I was cleaning were so small (and many had precious stones in them) I used a Q-tip for a more precise application. There is definitely a somewhat unpleasant smell, but it is absolutely worth all the good this product has done me, and on most of my jewelry it only took a minute or two to get it looking beautiful! I got so excited once I started cleaning that I actually took the pictures of these pairs before I was all the way done polishing them. I would pay so much more than the price of this product for the results I've seen. This stuff really works miracles.

Used this before and it is the BEST silver cleaner
Highly recommend. I have a ton of silver jewelry. Bought this product years ago under different label, but same name and company. Nothing compares and it works so well! I have even used this product on gold with nickel and that brassy/orange color is gone! Simple to use. I apply with Q-tip, let dry ( 5+ mins), and use a clean cloth to wipe off, then I rinse with water and dry. TARNISH IS GONE. This is the best cleaner I have ever found and used.

THE BEST!!!
You need not look elsewhere! For over 10 years I've relied on Scotchgard Tarni-Shield. It goes a long way and is more than worth the price. i used the last of it and couldn't find it anywhere so I bought a container of Weiman's Silver Wipes. That was a huge mistake! The proof is in the photo I posted. On the left side of the photo you can see that the silver has turned almost black and as you scan to the right you notice how it looks kind of tarnished until you reach the right side and see the jewelry has been fully restored. The result of using Weiman's wipes is in the tarnished area. I could never quite get the sparkle and shine that I get with Scotchgard. I gave up and the stuff in the photo turned black. Finally, I found Scotchgard on Amazon, and all is sparkly, shiny and well again (right side of photo)! Not only does this product leave your silver at its brightest, but it has a protective layer (shield) that keeps it looking its best for weeks. I cannot say the same for the competition. Weiman's latest only a few days before it looked ratty. I'll take messy liquid over useless wipes any day!

This is the best silver polish to buy.
I polish silver professionally, and as a final touch I use 3M Tarnish Shield polish. It leaves a nice finish and it is not too abrasive. โข Use only cotton makeup squares, cotton balls, and Q-tips. This avoids using a scratchy cloth. โข Do NOT use online recipes or Tarn-x recipes to remove tarnish. It etches the metal. โข Do NOT use metal polish that is not designed for polishing silver. โข Do not push and pull on handles. This is how people often break their silver. โข Do not twist candlesticks in your hands. Use the q-tips and cotton makeup squares. Use this same polish for flatware. Polish with a soft cloth-like old flannel pajamas. After polishing, hand wash with dishwashing soap and dry with a soft cloth.

Works well, but does require some elbow grease
This seems to work well, but does require some scrubbing. I prefer to use Tarn-X to remove the bulk of the tarnish, and then use this to do the final polish. I was surprised at how much more tarnish came off, even after I used Tarn-X. It does give the silver a bright shiny finish. This would not be good for silver filigree work, but anything with a relatively flat surface it would work with. It is supposed to delay the reformation of tarnish, but only time will tell. If you have silver with a lot of detail work, I would suggest using a toothbrush to apply this product.

Just O.K.
This is an o.k. silver cleaner in terms of smell and speed. However, I purchased this brand specifically because certain reviewers claimed it *prevented* the return of tarnish longer than other products. This has not been true in my experience and, in fact, it seems tarnish returns quicker, showing up a little less than a month after cleaning. Other brands I've tried offered a longer period of time between cleanings. I'm referring to silver items that sit out all the time like a candy dish and vanity items like glass containers with silver lids, not things that are stored in special cases like flatware or musical instruments. I live in a dry climate, so maybe this has something to do with tarnish showing up sooner. If you're looking for this function in a silver cleaner, take note. I would not repurchase.

Does what itโs supposed to
I have several clients I polish silver for. One of them found out that one of our museums uses the Scotchguard tarnish remover and thatโs how I started using it. I like the protection it leaves that keeps the silver brighter, longer. It does take some effort to get deeply tarnished items back to their full glow, so having the protection helps. This one is a liquid. I had been using a sort of paste kind. I use less of the Scotchguard tarni-shield than the other brands. The Scotchguard cleans up better, too. No residual gunk after rinsing and final buff.

Best product I've used.
I'm used to having to rub and rub and work hard to remove tarnish. Not with this stuff. Everything advertised is true. Great product. It's expensive though so instead of using a cloth initially and having it soak up valuable product I use the plastic 'gloves' that come in hair dye boxes. Works beautifully
