UGEARS Marble Run

I bought a pair of these so that I could link them as advertised. This linkage works very well, but is the only flimsy element, and care is need in moving the complete assembly. Otherwise I have nothing but praise for this complex and ingenious construction. It's certainly very complex, and therefore not at all suitable for a beginner in this type of thing, but as long as you take care in sanding down the odd break-off point where a piece is detached from its framework, and use plenty of candlewax (supplied) to grease the moving parts, it goes togther very well indeed. The intructions are very clear indeed, and highly commendable, and the accuracy of the design is awesome. . Best of all, it comes from the Ukraine, and therefore buying it will help to support their industry and their economy - I hope that both survive the attempt to destroy them. I've already bought other models in the series and am looking forward to getting stuck in.

I have to commend Ugears on the design and execution of this exquisite model. I’m a 72 year-old child and long term Lego Technics builder and find the design of these wooden models as exciting, if not more exciting than Lego. While Lego is constrained by a finite number of manufactured pieces, with laser-cut ply, there are no such restrictions. Any part or shape the designer needs can easily be manufactured. I have previously built several very complex models from Ugears (and others) with varying levels of success, satisfaction and frustration. I can say, without reservation, that this is the most satisfying and ultimately playable model I have built. I’ve ordered the other “linkable” marble run model as a Christmas present (the Step Hoist) so I’m looking forward to building, linking and playing with the combined results during the cold winter days to come.

The marble run works perfectly. There was an incident of a broken part due to the cat sitting on the part, so I had to glue it together, but other than that it was very good. You need to be careful when releasing parts, a good sharp craft knife will do this - DO NOT try to just pop the parts out by hand. Some of the clip together joints are tight (they need to be), so this is quite punishing on your finger and thumb ends...I suggest an hour or two, then leave off for a day. Total assembly is about four to six hours, but you MUST follow the instructions and each step carefully. I was actually well impressed. Not sure I can finance another one (or especially another 3), but I'm intrigued to see how an assembly of four would work. From previous experience, the elastic bands supplied break down in sunlight very quickly, but for this model they're not massively necessary so that's not so much a worry.

I bought this in lockdown to pass some time, a bit sceptical of the price, and it provided a lot of entertainment value. You must be careful to not break the pieces whilst removing them from the wooden cut-out (they do give a useful tool to help with this), but it is advertised that they send out spare pieces if you require them. I never requested spares though The instructions are manageable to read - some arrows pointing to places on the model are a bit vague. Be careful- some parts of the assembly are quite fiddly and can cause pain in fingers After a while, the marble run stopped working as it should but I was able to fix with some blue tack structural support. Overall, this was a good purchase and well worth the money. I ended up buying another one in the set to connect the two.

This is fantastic fun to build. The 1 and two star reviews are unwarranted in my view. The pieces are sometimes difficult to remove but if you are patient and think about it, they can be removed quite simply. And yes, the pieces are a tight fit (which makes it a robust model). Again patience is required and a diligent use of pliers without excessive force always does the trick. This particular run actually has four separate tracks which the marbles determine themselves and then it resets itself every fourth marble. Quite brilliant. Complaints about the chain are nonsense. As long as you sandpaper the chain parts before assembly to remove burrs and, once assembled, rub on the supplied wax - no problem. Mine runs as smooth as anything. All complaints regarding this model are due solely to the impatience of the reviewer (in my opinion).

Fantastic bit of kit, but need to follow instructions very carefully. I found it helpful to to tick off where I had gotten to, especially when picking it up the next day. Use the sandpaper to remove burrs as they can make it bind up if you don't. All in all it worked 1st time, but still needed a bend or twist here and there to get the balls flowing freely. Loved it, thanks Ugears for dedication amid horrendous pressure in Kyve.

Arrived on time in good condition

This is great fun, but a bit of a challenge to build. It's not for a young child, but a teenager who has spent time doing art and craft, and lego should have no problem. Some of the pieces can be very tight (and small) which can be an issue if they have to be removed, so a point-nosed pliers might be needed time to time.

Well thought out model to build. It's not the easiest, putting some parts together requires "fingerspitzengefuhl": press hard enough to make it fit, but not so hard that it breaks. For me nothing was broken, but one has to be careful. Fortunately the manual is very good, pointing out those parts where you have to pay attention to the shape of a part. It took about six hours to assemble. The wood is good quality. I also like that they put the part numbers next to the part, so that after assembly you just see the wood. Disadvantage is that you need to keep track of what part is what number. Other kits have the number on the part, which makes that a bit easier, but results in the numbers visible after assembly.

Guter Kundenservice. Gute Aufbauanleitung. Anspruchsvolles Modell, teilweise etwas kniffellig, gut gearbeitet. Etwas Vaseline und ein Pinsel statt Wachs erleichtern Teile wie z.B. Zahnräder zu schmieren. Noch nicht ganz fertig, aber macht Spaß! Slawa Ukraina

l'article est de bonne qualité, le montage est accessible à la majorité des gens. Le final est sympathique avec le mécanisme qui permet de faire circuler les billes. Très satisfait

上昇させるチェーン部がよく引っかかり動きがよくないので、2台目との接続用のギャーにモーターを接続して作動させると辛うじて作動するようになった。作動部の潤滑には蝋では不十分なのでグリスを多量に使用したら動くようになった。動きのよくないところを補正して、やっと70%ほどの作動が可能になった。土台が弱くフラつくので厚めの板に固定した。非常に複雑な装置なのでもう少し強度が必要である。苦労して作ってなんとか動くので満足して作動させている。
