Downsides are that it could stand to come with better accessories. Seeing as these are LED strips they are more programmable and for the price point I think it’s reasonable for it to come with a remote that allows you to cycle through settings and alter the brightness. Holy moley is this thing bright when you get it. I put it in my bedroom for ambient lighting and it was so bright out the box it was more disturbing than anything. I bought a new power adapter with a dimmer on it to fix this rather than return the light because I do like it. It’s just frustrating I had to make another $24 purchase to achieve a function this item easily could have come with. If you choose to do the same please be careful to buy a new adapter with the same amp output as the one it came with so as not to create a fire hazard.
