Finally figured it out.
At first I was putting things in the bait bowl and no luck. I even put that emulsified fish fertilizer and I was catching nothing. Then my dog crapped in our yard and I saw so these flies on it. So I moved the poop to an unused corner leaving it on the ground there. I then rigged a stick to his the trap over the poop on the ground, leaving about 1/2 to 1 inch between the ground and the entrance. I did not end up using the bait bowl this way. By the end of the day there were probably hundred of flies swarming inside the trap!The thing I really love about this trap is the lack of stench. All those other traps may catch flies, but who the hell wants to sit out and enjoy the yard with that stench?!

Low quality
I order 8 that many because something told me it was going to be missing pieces or damaged which of course it was at least only 3 came ok but they are doing its job
