Otamatone Japanese Electronic Synthesizer Musical Instrument Toy - Yellow

I am an adult, I promise, and this is the funnest thing I own. I have absolutely NO musical talent but it’s been fun learning little basic songs. I had big dreams when I bought this Otamatone and thought maybe I could end up on YouTube or something but lemme tell you it’s not as easy as it looks. Probably not a great kids toy if you value your hearing and your peace. However if you don’t I think older kids would really enjoy it.

This little musical instrument is as cute as it can be and a lot of fun to play around with. It’s like having a kazoo with personality. The sound skips a little in the middle of the fretboard but I can just press harder there. I have a cockatiel who thinks this thing is the greatest. He loves it when I make the little yellow face sing to him. The rest of the time I leave the device hanging on the outside of his cage looking in at him, and he’ll walk over to visit and sing to it. A friend of mine likes it, so I’m going to order one for him and one of the larger less-toy-like ones for myself.

Good bright yellow so my kid can find it in his messy room. The sound is weird and I understand others’ comments about it, but we were laughing so hard! If you’re relatively musical already, it easy to figure out. Not to sound _good_ but to play the tune you want and make it recognizable.

Bday boy ( 9yo) & guests could NOT put it down. Parents soon hate the electronic tones c o n s t a n t l y manipulated by child. Sound quality is NOT as melodic as Vendor video demo. ( got childs version$) / yellow model ) Nevertheless KIDS love the “waa-waah” sounds& distortion by squeezing the”mouth” . I The musical insert & subtle keyboard fret=notes were lost on our crowd. They just enjoy the sound effects. Instrument is rather fragile Maybe Japanese kids are more respectful of toys than American kids? So far, the neck has not snapped. But that seems to be the weakest link in design.Didn’t buy additional “ case” cause that doubled the cost of the toy. Uses 3 AAA ( NOT illustrated clearly on package , but one figures it out) Has 3 volume settings, neither that loud AND 3 tonal settings which seem only minimal variation. Vendor video sold ME on musical potential, but actual kids enjoy the sound effects… recommend gift is not for YOUR household tranquilly , but the Life of the Party.

Super cher, et super dur à jouer. C’est possible d’en faire quelque chose, mais il faut vraiment poncer l’objet. À moins d’avoir un vrai projet autour de ça, ne succombez pas à l’impulsion, ça sera bien vite du gachis pour vous et pour la planète.

I got this for my son, who loves instruments. I’d never heard of one before but it’s so cute & he loves it! It’ll take a bit of practice to get any form of rhythm out of it, but once you do it’ll be worth the effort, I hope 🤞🏼 (just plug your ears as it can be annoying after a few hours 🤣🤣)
