It is nylon and says dry clean only which makes no sense.** A: To be honest I had just received this several days ago. I can say they run snug so I ordered the next size up and the fit is fine.The material is a nylon outer shell with a polyester fiber fill. The tag does state " Dry Clean Only " I've never machine washed any jacket or coat I've owned with the exception of my Levi Denim.Clearly put I would follow the manufacturers suggestion regarding cleaning and avoid ruining the jacket or its finish by laundering and drying.I realize not the answer you're seeking. But I did reply asap. **Q: Brass or steel zip?** A: Brass.
