Advance R2S40TP R-2S40-TP Ballast 120V 60Hz

This ballast has been overheating and shutting off every 30 minutes or less. I called the number on the ballast today for warranty info, and they confirmed that despite the description on this seller's page --this ballast is DISCONTINUED. It affects your warranty--so do not trust this listing. I am going to complain to Amazon separately about this as well.

Product I received was exactly what the picture was.I have purchased after market ballast that were supposed to work and did not.This was a perfect match.

I bought this product thinking it new but the product is used and when I installed it it didn’t work at all do not recommend buying it

This ballast replaced an identical one that had failed after several years of service in a fluorescent light fixture. The wires coming out of the replacement ballast should have been a couple inches longer. Two of the wires needed to be stretched to the limit to make the connections (using wire nuts) to the wires in the fixture. Installation of the ballast requires basic electrical knowledge and ability to make the wire to wire connections. After installation, the lights worked fine, but there is a noticeable hum coming from the ballast - louder than in the original.

It worked when I installed it but it didn't look new. It was bent and looked used. The one I removed was in better condition than this supposed new one. Very fishy indeed. It was even bent on one corner. I hope it works for a long time or you'll be hearing back from me

It met all my expectations.

I received the ten I ordered, but when I called the manufacture to see their age (since the boxes looked so old), they said they were from 1986~~30 years old! Unbelievable! Too old to work. Very unhappy!
