The scent is a bit different than On Guard (the clove and cinnamon is stronger), but I think it smells better. With On Guard, I often apply it directly to my skin, but with this, you should always dilute with a carrier oil (I use coconut oil). Even when applying to the bottom of the feet. It is much stronger, so keep that in mind, especially when applying to children, which I honestly wouldn't recommend, unless it is heavily diluted. When diffusing, I feel that the fumes are more beneficial for treating cold/flu than On Guard. I feel that they work better because they are more potent. Some uses for this oil that I have tried are oil pulling: I use 1 - 1.5 tbs of coconut oil with ONE drop of this oil. Anything more would be way too strong. Swish the oil around in the mouth for 15 minutes then spit. Works well for cold and flu symptoms. Totally took all of mine away. all-purpose cleaner: 20 drops of this oil, 1 cup distilled water and 1/2 cup white vinegar (be sure to store it in a glass bottle, as EO can erode plastics. I find that this oil works better than On Guard for cleaner because it has lemon over orange, and lemon is a better cleaning agent! diffusing: I put 6 drops of this oil and diffuse it overnight by the bedside at the first signs of a cold, and I usually feel loads better in the morning. In all, this is a very versatile oil that is as good as or better than Do Terra's On Guard. I will be switching to this oil from now on because of the price. Review: Good value - I like this product. Similar to Theives brand (clean spicy smell) and much less expensive. It is not quite as complex as Theives which is still my favorite but for the price, it is a good value. Also I like the little glass roll-on bottle. It takes a minute to get it started -- get the oil to lubricate the roll, but then it works well.
