I wanted to write a review because the quality of these is flawless. They are made of really beautiful stainless steel and are very solid. I’m fact, my only complaint is that, for my needs, they are too nice! They have a fair amount of weight to them, and I planned to install them in a small sabot. As something I have to lift up onto the car and carry to the water, I couldn’t justify adding that much weight for some cleats. I ended up buying plastic ones for my needs, but I love the quality of the metal ones.

Perfect size for scotty or cannon downriggers

Nice cleat. Very heavy duty. Knocked down one star because there are sharp edges left from the casting that I will have to file down before use so they don’t damage the rope.

These are very solid and look great but are worthless for any line larger than 1/8th inch. I had high hopes after asking and getting answers from customers saying it would work well with 1/4 rope. It does not hold the line, not even a little. 1/4 inch line is too fat to lock into the teeth. As far as I'm concerned this item is not as described and lacks proper info for a successful purchase.

Using this on a Hobie sale boat. Great way to lock in the sail, and even better because you can loop the rope through it (giving you leverage when you want to simply hold the rope.)

Very high quality cleats suitable for small line sizes.. !/4 inch line is a little too big for this cleat, you need 6mm or smaller. Perfect for those little ines tying things down on your kayak or one-man sailboat.. .

Solid, good shine, will test resistance to salt water In the days to come
