Jansal Valley Medjool Dates, 1 Pound

I am going to try to put this review into words but it's going to be hard!! My Medjool Dates arrived today and I was a little hesitant to try them. I've been ordering my dates from Natural Delights and I was satisfied with them. I'm a Prime member and I wanted my dates faster than the usual shipping time that it takes from Natural Delights so I decided to order them from this Seller-Jansal Valley. Boy oh Boy am I glad I did!! These dates are WONDERFUL !! Upon opening the package I immediately noticed a difference in the look of the dates. These dates looked moist, not that semi- dry look that I was used to!! Pls don't mis-understand me, my previous dates from N.D. wern't horrible or bad tasting, I just thought that was how dates were supposed to be. I popped one of the Jansal Valley Medjool Dates into my mouth and I FROZE!! OMG!! It taste like a candied date!! Very moist, large and full of flavor!! I am so very happy I found this company and I will never order my dates from anywhere else!! If you like dates as much as I do, you owe it to yourself to taste a piece of HEAVEN!!!

These were so delicious, I have ordered them for future once a month delivery. My batch came from Israel and were fresh and moist. I really hope I won't have any problems as others have described, but I will update each month.UPDATE June 2017. These are still the best dates I've ever tasted. Unfortunately, the last two months I received these, some were musty and some had gone bad. When they are fresh, they are delicious. I wish they would just admit when the poor months are and not ship them unless they are fresh. I finally cancelled my subscription, because they are too expensive to tolerate poor quality.

They were worth the money for most people. But I chop them up in my trail mix. These are too moist. I had to dry them to use them.

I have bought medjool dates from quite a few different sellers, on amazon and other various websites, and also from my local stores. The price on these is a little bit high for dates of this type, but the quality more than makes up for it. They arrived packaged very well, and when I opened them they were SO moist and plump. They had a light sweet smell and when eaten plain were soft and deliciously sugary. I like to use them to make date caramel, and if the dates are too dry this process is very hard to do. Happy to report that these blended up wonderfully smooth and creamy !

I have tried several brands and type of dates. These are good! They are soft, moist and very sweet. I will continue to order them.

I have been receiving monthly subscription shipments of these dates for about a year. Sadly, they have seriously declined in quality. For the first several months, they were soft and chewy, but became drier and harder in later months. This month's shipment was the worst yet. When I transferred the dates from the package to my storage jar, I noticed something that looked like black soot smeared on the interior walls of the plastic shipping container. When I removed the stem cap from one of the dates, there was a puff of fine black powder and a black powdery substance filled the depression below the cap. Since that one appeared to be contaminated with something like mold, I did not eat any and discarded all of them. Amazon sent me a replacement immediately--unfortunately, the dates are so old and dried out, they are hard and crusty with sugar. There is no soft, chewy interior. Instead of complaining to Amazon again and risk being sent another inferior product, I just searched for a different brand of dried dates for my subscription. I found several, some at lower cost, so I won't be purchasing any more Jansal Valley brand.

The first package I ordered was a little on the dry side but the 3 since then have all been very moist and soft. Very good dates, I use them as a snack food and it's hard to put them down.
