Fly Fishing Tippet, Fluoroflex Strong Leader, 100% Fluorocarbon for Trout, 30YD Spool

My 'go to' tippet material. Strong, turns over well and fish don't see it. I like that it's available in half sizes for additional options. I use 4-5.5X.

This 5x fluorocarbon tippet is stronger than it's competitors and holds a knot well. Yes, its kind of pricey, but think about it-- the tippet is where the fish meets your fly. Don't skimp on your tippet material!

Crappy feed system. Rio used to be at the top of the game here, but they went with the SA rubber band feed system. It sucks. Returning the product and won’t buy from Rio if this is how things will be.

I spend part of 120-140 days per year fly fishing for trout, salmon, steelhead & use Rio flurocarbon tippets exclusively for years now. If you snap off a fish on a Rio fluorocarbon tippet, then it was not meant to be...I was snapping off huge 30-35 King Salmon on 0x Rio fluorocarbon a few weeks ago. Nothing you can do with river monsters that size, but a little luck helps in landing them. But, I have to say I snap off very few fish with these tippets & when I do snap something off, its usually exceptionally large. I dry fly with 4x Rio fluoro & my regular nymphing rig has 3x tippet set up. Highly recommended.

Personally, the best tip material on the market. Obviously the biggest drawback is the cost. Very supple material.

It's very strong tippet. Some of the other brands seem to break much easier than they should. This is definitely a good quality product.

I purchased the 3X version. Caught this rainbow at Draycote first time using this tippet, around 10lb, and returned. Size 12 home tied buzzer top dropper.
