And I must admit that I did pretty much the same items that he described. Norman, at the time, was a small town where kids could have a ball for little money and Mr. Moore described it perfectly. If you were lucky enough to have a bike, you could go all over town in a short period of time and during the summers, fall and spring. I suppose that other boys would admit that they did the same things that we did. If you want nostalgia for your formative years, you'll be chuckling, all the way back to your childhood. This book as well as it's sequel, will make you laugh all the way thru. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn’t put it down. A total joy to read. *by S***. on Reviewed in the United States on August 25, 2021* The author was a classmate of mine in high school, and is still a great Facebook friend. I knew this book would be awesome b/c of the way Bill writes his posts on Facebook telling his friends of his life in New Zealand. This book touched my heart in soo many ways. Bills writing is so descriptive, that in your mind you see what he’s writing about or transports you to the place. I couldn’t put it down. Bill, thank you for letting me go back to my days of innocence as a child in Norman, Oklahoma. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Heartwarming AND Hysterical -- This series is well worth your time! *by S***Y on Reviewed in the United States on August 7, 2024* This book is a hit on SO many levels; you are going to smile and laugh your way through its pages! Bill paints such a vivid picture of life in what was then a sleepy college town and all the chaos we children of the '60s and '70s managed to survive. The book's chapters are self-contained stories, making it easy to read even if you're really busy. And you don't have to be from Norman to appreciate the ambiance of a 1960s-70s childhood for those of us from this era. Ironically, Bill and I never met in our mutual hometown of Norman; it was years later working at a paper in Texas, where he was a TERRIFIC mentor to me as I started my own reporting career. My advice -- grab yourself a copy of this book and its sequels. They will definitely improve your day.
