Been using Oak City's Tobacco Vanilla Beard Balm for a couple of months and I LOVE IT! 😀 I've read some of the other reviews and don't understand why guys are complaining about the smell. It's NOT "overpowering" or obnoxious, but has a great tobacco/vanilla scent that really reminds me of cookies and the sweet tobacco aroma from my dad's pipe! The hold the balm provides for your beard and moustache is good, it's easy to massage into your hair and comb through and, even though the container only holds 2oz., I'm nowhere near running out of balm! The stuff lasts a long time! I highly recommend Oak City Beard Company's Tobacco Vanilla Beard Balm to any man who wants his beard to look, feel and smell wonderful!

I've ordered Oak City balm previously, and its wonderful.. many times the balms have a lovely scent that fades quickly, and Oak City does a good job holding the scent.. the Tabacco Vanilla scent is very nice, however it holds for a long long time and it is a powerful scent.. again, smells great, but for me was just too much for the entire morning.. i'll try a different scent next time....

I have been trying various beard products I find here on Amazon, and so far this is one of my favorites. The balm feels nice on my face and beard without being greasy, and the highlight is the nice tobacco and vanilla scent that isn’t strong but lasts for a while. I will definitely reorder when it runs out.

I was concerned after reading negative reviews of the reformulation of the Tobacco/Vanilla, since the pandemic-era version was so amazing. I have both side by side and find the new version 90% as satisfying. It is missing a small bit of *something* but it is still a wholly satisfying scent. And I feel the texture/application is pretty much the same. It smells great and certainly doesn't smell like some of how the other reviews described.

When I first bought this a couple of years ago, it smelled exactly like the smoke shop I used to buy tobacco from. Nice vanilla, strong pipe tobacco scent. Lovely. Then it was unavailable for a while. I sent a message to the company and they told me they were having supply chain issues. Totally understandable, given the weirdness the world has been through in the last few years. But then it became available again. The last batch I got smelled like it's been heavily reformulated. Possibly related to aforementioned supply chain issues. The tobacco smell is almost nonexistent. Instead it's more or less a vanilla and butter smell. Not unpleasant, but not what I want either. There is virtually no tobacco fragrance in it anymore. So I guess if you want to smell like a nice vanilla candle, this is okay. If you want to smell like a rich tobacco and vanilla... maybe not so much. Pretty disappointed. Not sure what to do now. I really liked the way it smelled before.

Is was hot when this product was delivered to me. The butter went from waxy substance to liquid oil, breaking the safety seal under the lid, leaking, caking the plastic bag it came in and irreversibly darkening the label. The lid needs to be leak-proof (like the lid of a thermos) to make this item giftable. That said, this product has a pungent tobacco scent that becomes unbearable in your beard. The scent does not fade over time, it continues all day as if in an effort to ruin your entire day (even after you've aggressively washed it out) with it's annoyingly concentrated scent (like pipe tobacco smoke mixed with cigar smoke). This company hasn't mastered the art of subtilty, just how to make scents that carry a wrecking ball of a punch. Strong scents like this don't belong so close to our noses. Scent aside, this product serves its purpose as a beard butter beautifully! This butter fully nourished the parched and irritated skin living under my beard (I'm new to the art of beard maintenance). I would like to use this butter again (for its healing properties) but not if it means wearing a smoking lounge on my face. Perhaps when this company has gotten the scent to smell like the scent outside of an open smoking lounge on a cool day with a light breeze then I'll buy this product again and use that. For now, I'll keep using it to soften my feet and to keep them from smelling like Doritos with extra cheese.

Smells great and just as advertised. Tobacco vanilla. I've gotten more compliments on this aroma than any other beard balm I've tried
