I Understand The Disappointment of Some But Don't Let It Stop You
Those that are used to Simon's books were probably expecting a thick, story-driven story. This is not what you'll get in this book. This book is a different flavor of Simon's story telling. The book is very simple; and if you have watched the promotional video/song on his site, you have seen the majority of the drawings in the book. Yet, the experience wouldn't be complete.Yes, the book is very simple and short but the more I reflect on it, the more I see the genius of its simplicity.I think this book is thought provoking. What would you do in a situation like it? The bully, the underdog, the misfits? What would you give up to accomplish your dreams? What if your dreams are totally different from the environment you were raised in?With its simple drawings, this book challenges me to think differently, and to realize that life is meant to be lived with others.Together is definitely better.Take time to reflect on the quotes, and embed yourself in the story.

Will Purchase Again
I received this as a gift from my late fiancé - one of my most treasured gifts from him. The author’s optimism coupled with a children’s book style writing is pure genius for all ages. Have since purchased almost a dozen over the years for colleagues and friends.

Concepts can be used in work, home, marriage, etc.
I saw a quote in a work email about people debating whether the glass is half full or empty, and how those people are missing the point, the glass is refillable... I was curious hand looked into the person that gave the quote. I was immediately inspired by the author, Simon Sinek. I bought this book to help inspire my husband. He’s 49 this year with a bachelors degree but hates his job. His degree did not end up putting him in the direction he wanted. He has talked about going back for a masters, but it’s been all talk as he continues to struggle with motivation because of fear. I introduced him to the Ted Talk to finding your why... and within an hour he came up with a great and deep why. I bought this book for our 18th anniversary today, in May will be out 11th married. We are a team, and our company is our home. So this book can be seen in so many lights. Whether it’s your team at work, your team at home, your team of friends, your college team, etc... I hope he loves it, as this may have been the most thoughtful gift that comes straight from my heart.I just ordered a second book for my 19 year old daughter, that grew up with her father. She lacked the kind of love and support a parent should give until she was 15 when we found each other... yes, I hadn’t seen her for 9 years... anyway, she wants to do college alone, and I think it’s great... but I have also been opening her up to new ideas and to being able to accept support. She listens and loves when I can show her new ways to ease her mind, and I think this will be a great addition to her college apartment.

It is written as if like a children's story book
Interesting book. It is written as if like a children's story book. Simon Sinek is a very good leadership and motivational writer, and he does not disappoint in this book. Most concepts discussed the importance of dependence on your team and perseverence in hardships, and it spoke it so elegantly with the beautiful handdrawn illustrations. I guess the only kind of book I can relate this one to is "Who Moved My Cheese?" where the writer takes technical concepts and metaphorically weaves it into the storyline to make it entertaining and meaninful for the reader. Mr. Sinek does this very well in this book. The book also has a characteristic smell to it that in my opinion is woody, and bold. That with stating, I did not learn any new concepts in this book, only that he spoke the concepts in a different way and possibly for a specific audience.I had originally purchased because i wanted to use this book as one of my groomsmen gifts, but it is best left to give to a young colleague or college graduate trying to find his way in his career.

If you like Simon Sinek, you'll love this book.
Okay, let's be real, if you LOVE Simon Sinek, you'll love this book. It's a quick 5-10 min read. Each page is an inspirational quote or topic that follows an illustrated story. Very abstract but you get the gist pretty quickly. If you take the tame and focus on one page at a time you get a deeper meaning to each step.My favorite part of the whole book was the scratch and sniff page. I have NO idea why. It shocked me when I came across that page, and was like REALLY?!? Then after reading the entire book, I went back and scratched the smelly page again. lol It ended up being a highlight of the book for me. That and the perception change of the children as the story progresses.Super cute idea and I liked the concept of this book.

I loved the smell of optimism. This an easy read and a great gift to give someone. All organizations should give during onboarding.
