I've had the physical volume for a while now, but I'd been procrastinating on getting the Kindle version. I heard the news that Seven Seas voluntarily recognized their union, United Workers of Seven Seas (@_UW7S on Twitter), today, so I finally got around to buying it! I hope the negotiations go well and the workers get all their very reasonable demands.The book itself is incredible. Mo Xiang Tong Xiu is a masterful writer. I read the full fan translation before it was taken down, and I've been obsessed with the main couple for over a year now. It means so much to read a book that centers and celebrates M/M romance and sexuality, and the dynamics of the couple are exactly my type, with one character incredibly devoted to another very kind character. And it's not just that - the cast of characters and the non-romance plots are very well-done.The quality of the translation is very good as well (with a disclaimer that I don't speak Chinese; I mean lack of typos, etc.). And the illustrations are very nice! I especially like the one with Xie Lian standing on his bed - he's very cute.Overall, I highly recommend this volume! I would give it more than five stars if I could.

I first found MXTX through The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation and she was my introduction to the Wuxia and Xianxia genres.The way she weaves these stories is breathtaking, and many characters garner sympathy and compassion from the reader. When you start reading this series you get a feeling of depth and breadth, like there's more in your peripheral vision; let me tell you, there is.The introduction of Qi Rong was delightful and I greatly enjoyed his... We shall say, antics.The XianLe storyline was compelling and fleshes out Mu Qing and Feng Xin very well. It makes you wonder how they got to such a irreparable gulf in the centuries after this flashback.Let me tell you, Xie Lian as a teenager is very entertaining.I highly recommend this and the rest of MXTX's work.

Love this series! It gives way more details than the anime. Will definitely continue to read. It’s supposed to be a BL, but I haven’t really gotten much of that vibe yet.

I really like book two's cover! I LOVE the cover art, it's super pretty! Not only is it very pretty but if you rub your hand on it, it's actually two different textures, which is pretty neat! (So far, all the book covers are like this.)My only complaint, which isn't about the book itself, is that the delivery was not when it said it would be and somehow ended up being delivered to my neighbor's house across from my front porch despite me asking for the package to be delivered to my house to my back porch. It came later than expected (I think it was a day or two) but the handling was very nice, and my books weren't damaged. (I ordered book three at the same time as I ordered book two, so they came packaged together.)I recommend reading book one before getting book two since it's kind of confusing if you don't.The storyline is nice and compelling and picks up right after book one.

Just finished the second book and it is safe to say I am hooked. I was unsure when I started the first book but as I got used to the writing style, I fell in! These characters feel real and multifaceted, & the lore/ world building is quite intriguing. I would recommend!

The story is amazing and it is starting to dig much deeper in the past so we can understand the story much better. Xie Lian is an icon and one of my fav main characters ever. Unfortunately the book I got was really dirty and also really damaged, it's the most damaged book I own now. Makes me sad but It's okay

Gute Qualität

This is my second time reading this novel, still I can hardly put it down. The characters are very original and amusing, each with their own back story. The horror element is really well done. The romance is not my favourite kind but I enjoyed the subtlety of it so far. The following volumes will get very dark and the horror element also continues.
