Do you have to take off tires to apply?

Not sure what you are asking. I use this to lubricate caliper slides and, if rebuilding the caliper itself, the piston seal. To access the brake caliper for service, the wheel must be removed. But the tire need not be removed from the wheel to work on brake calipers. If you are planning on using it in another way, please be more specific in your follow up.

does it contain teflon, ptfe?

I do not believe this product is a sealant like teflon. I would contact the manufacturer to be sure.

I ordered bk-8 but received sg-8. are they the same?

Looks like SG-8 is about $2 more expensive and both products work on brakes, but SG-8 is listed for working on windows, etc. See below.
