Really glad I waited to review this helmet because yesterday on my way to work it saved my life. I slammed my head against the ground so hard. I would be dead right now if not for this helmet. Just a little scratch on my head and a little bit of pain. Other places but I'll be okay. Thanks! The lights work really good too. Even though I've never used the blinker thing, I feel like it would just confuse the driver behind me. Sometimes they go for short slow rides without a helmet and I will never be doing that again.

I found these helmets on Amazon last year. They appeared to be really cool and perfect for daily commuting. But, I was skeptical. I have been cycling for over 20 years. I have raced various disciplines and I use the bike as a daily commuter. I live in busy metropolitan city, so safety and being seen is key. I felt like this helmet would be a great addition to my safety on the bike (particularly the turning signals). But, I wanted to watch the reviews before I invested. After monitoring the reviews for a year and noticing very little negative feedback, I had to give it a try. I have been using the Lumos Ultra for a month now, and I am very impressed. It's easy to use, I love the ability to customize the configurations and the app is user friendly. I have even started using my Ultra on training rides where city miles are involved. I am very pleased with the purchase and I recommend. *I gave four stars to the weight. However, that is an insignificant critique. I use a small lightweight helmet light on some mountain bike rides and it makes the helmet much heavier than my Ultra.

The helmet fits well, looks cool and having the turn signals for my commuter bike makes me feel safer, more visible to cars traveling all around me. The black matches my bike like it was made for it.
