Civil War Wool Lined Kepi Hat - Gray

My daughter needed a Civil War era hat and this did the trick. It is great quality and fit her well. I recommend this product!

nice hat really but to large for a grown man so larger than a 22 inch head

It arrived today and it fits my 11 yo daughter's head just fine. So I imagine it would work for a 10-12 yo kid. It is not adjustable, so you take your chances on whether it is a little loose or tight. But it works for my daughter's Civil War school module (where the kids actually need to conduct infantry battle drills/formations as part of a large ongoing assignment where the kids are divided into teams of North and South {she drew the South straw}). It is relatively inexpensive which fits the temporary nature of this 1.5 month school assignment. It is NOT really quality enough for an adult participant in Civil War reenactment events (if that is your hobby, you need to get a $50 plus kind of hat).The reason I drop the rating a star is because the cheap shiny plastic crossed rifles emblem that is sewed into the front of the hat (and thus non adjustable/detachable/rearrangeable) on the hat I received is installed UPSIDE DOWN. The rifles in the crossed rifle emblem are actually upside down. But it looks just fine from a distance. You have to get up close to the hat to see the rifles are upside down.I told my daughter that she can just pretend to be the anarchist/punk rock version of a Civil War soldier who wears their insignia upside down to protest authority (Down with the Man! ... :P )

Better than expected considering the price.

This hat is VERY well made!! The stitching is done very professionally and the hat seems very tough. It’s very comfortable to wear and very authentic looking.The only thing I will do is take the hat pin off and replace it with one of better quality. The pin looks great, just want something different.
