Installed solar system in my motorhome and at first tried using one of those hammer crimper they work good on my 2 gusge and up but the crimps looked horrible and unprofessional plus it wouldn't crimp 4/0 wire i needed for my inverter. So I ordered this it is a little awkward to hold wire in connector while pumping to crimp but after a couple times you get used to it. All crimps have been tight and look really good. The cutter that comes with it is really sharp it makes cuts alot easier. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who ned to crimp larger battery wires for vehicles or solar systems.

Works really well for copper lugs for heavy gauge wire well worth the money and the cutter goes through the wire like nothing.

UPDATE BELOW: Original review: The tool lost crimping power about 1/3 of the way through my deck project. It does not come with replacement seals or parts, but it does come with a booklet purportedly in English, although virtually indecipherable, and in there it says the seals "will be damaged after a long time." Didn't seem all that long to me.UPDATE: I have to give kudos for product support. Even though my "return window" had passed, the seller saw my critical review and reached out to me, telling me the device was still "covered by warranty" and offered to replace it, which they did very rapidly! It even came with replacement O-rings this time. I did not have to send back the original tool. I have increased my rating from 1 to 4 stars as a result, and if the tool itself lasts long enough to complete my deck railings without having to tear it down and rebuild it, I will increase it to five stars.

Great kit, it has a good selection of jaws and force of the press is out of this world

Without this crimper, I could not have completed my solar setup in the work shed.

My initial review is going to have to be a 1. I purchased this and hardware for a cable railing system. I ensured I used proper size jaws, proper wire, and proper connectors. The first 20 crimps held and worked ok, after that, the crimps just weren't holding, and then the whole top snapped off. I was unable to finish a simple quick job which will now end up costing me money. I cannot recommend this product.

My hand crimper could not crimper 10awg or thicker. You just don't have the hand strength to crimper wth enough force. This tool solves that.

Works as advertised. I used this to create custom length 2/0 awg cables for my camper van solar power system. Easily crimped the copper lugs with a nice uniform crimp. Hex shaped dies were easy to change out when doing other wire guage sizes. Cutters that came with it were decent quality and were sharp enough to easily cut wire cleanly.
