Start Your Own Business: The Only Startup Book You'll Ever Need

I’m not finished with this book yet but it is very detailed and informative!

This has been extraordinarily life changing. The book was way thicker in person than in the photos so I was intimidated at first. After completing brainstorming this book seemed not so much as intimidating as when I first saw it. The book is definitely a guide, and it gives you technical practical and logical explanations for how to do things and when to do things. The tone of the book is conversational and easy to read. It was hard for me to put down the book once I finally got going.

This is a huge resource for starting a business. It's so big that you may find it overwhelming, as parts of it may not apply to your business. For instance, if you're starting a freelance business, you may find The Freelancers Bible or A Freelancers Survival Guide more on point. Whatever book and other resources you use, expect to adapt what they're saying to your specific business.

I opened this package as soon as it arrived and immediately started laughing. Ya'll, this book is over 800 pages lol no wonder the description says it's the only startup book you'll need. I flipped through it and it seems very informative and easy to understand and implement.

This was the book my college professor used as our textbook and it was very informative

This book has a few decent reminders, but it feels very generic and outdated in places. A lot of it reads like broad “startup motivation” rather than practical, step-by-step guidance you can actually follow. The advice is surface-level, the examples aren’t very actionable, and there isn’t enough depth on things like validating a market, pricing, or execution challenges. If you’re brand new it might be mildly helpful, but for anyone with real business experience, it doesn’t add much value.

I bought this book for my Entrepreneurship and Technology in Clinical Kinesiology class at UWO. If you’re in this class, yes this is the real book the prof wants you to buy, it’s cheaper than the bookstore, and came in perfect condition. However, in hindsight I probably wouldn’t have bought it because I looked in it all of 2 times and it was definitely not necessary. The prof really pulled out the important stuff and had it in the slides, so reading the book didn’t really give me more detail. In general though, from the small parts I did read, I would say if you’re not in a business/entrepreneurship class then it would be a good starter book for people who have no background in this area. It’s pretty thick so it really covers everything you’d need to know about starting a business.
