Why? Because it can do many things! The usual uses are as a bath oil or to run on your skin after a shower. But it's also good for helping to keep away bugs. Not clouds of mosquitoes, but for keeping away the occasional bite it's wonderful (and smells nice too). Which brings me to my cats. I have one cat that seems to suffer from flea bites more than any others -- they seem to gravitate to him. He also has somewhat dry skin. We've discovered that if we mix the SSS with water (roughly 1 part SSS to 4 parts water), we can rub it into his coat and onto his skin. The fleas stay away more, and his skin is much softer. And while he isn't exactly thrilled with getting "softened", I can tell he feels so much better. We only give him this treatment once a month or so. I realize this isn't exactly a usual use for SSS, but it works. But if you decide to try it on your cat or dog, you do it at your own risk. While it's fine on our cats, it may not suite yours. When I wear it, I get maybe 1 bite vs the 5 I used to get. This is also a life saver for my son who's bites get swollen.
