Plant-Based does not mean eggs, chicken and fish.
There's nothing more aggravating than ordering a plant-based recipe book that is filled with egg, fish and chicken recipes. Don't buy if you really are plant-based. You've seen these vegan recipes a million times already.

Includes fish, chicken, eggs
I was surprised to see chicken, fish, and eggs in the book.. The book explains the exclusion of red meat in the recipes is what deems it ‘plant based’.While I do understand the difference between ‘plant based’, and ‘vegan’, and ‘vegetarian’, I am still disappointed. It’s my bad for ordering it in a hurry without thoroughly researching it and reading reviews.Unfortunately can’t use many of the recipes. My search continues…

Contains animal products
I pre-ordered this book because I love Mediterranean food and thought having an entire book of Mediterranean recipes sounded great. I wish I had waited until it was released, because I wouldn't have bought it. On the plus side, the recipes look pretty healthy overall, and many of them are simple and quick, so would be good for prepping lunches or weeknight dinners. However, this book includes recipes containing animal products including eggs, chicken, fish, etc., which I don't eat and wasn't expecting. If that's what you're looking for, you might want to give it a try, but with only 75 recipes in the book and many of them the same sort of thing you could find elsewhere, it doesn't seem worth it. If you're vegan, definitely don't bother.

Just received, can’t wait to try
I have not yet tried any of the recipes, but I can’t wait. They look and read delicious. First I want to address the negative comments regarding not enough pictures and being mislead by the title as both are totally unwarranted. Some people complained that the title claims these recipes are Plant Based. What the title actually says is that the recipes are plant based Mediterranean. It clearly states in the description that she took the two diets and combined them. So yes, there is a section with meat but there are also many plant based recipes. As far as the complaints regarding not enough pictures, that is also not true. Is there a picture on every page? No, of course not. But there are plenty of pictures. I’m excited to delve into these recipes and will edit my reviews after trying them.

Disappointing
I bought this book because I follow a vegan diet, and my grown daughter, was told by her doctor to follow a Mediterranean diet. I was hoping to find some recipes to combine the two.I blame myself for pre-ordering, without reading the fine print. Upon receiving it, imagine my surprise, when I randomly opened it to a recipe featuring meat!! The vegan recipes are in the minority. To call this book “plant based”, is misleading. Just a “heads-up”, from my mistake.

Excellent Read!
I was thrilled when I received my advance copy of Jen's book to review. Jen and I connected through a plant base, whole food Facebook page and have had many informative and encouraging conversations. Jen is helpful, genuine, knowledgeable and quick to answer questions. With my foreknowledge of Jen I was highly anticipating perusing this exciting cookbook. It did not disappoint!! The cover is gorgeous as are the colored pages. I loved the notations on many of the recipes stating "gluten free" as that is important to my family. I also appreciated the notation "quick" as that is important to me! The variation and leftover tips are so helpful. I can't wait to put my meal plan together this week. This book is easy to read and understand. Family friendly and diet transitioning friendly. I would highly recommend this cookbook to anyone interested in an easy to understand plan for healthier lifestyle.

Great plant-based book for the beginner!
This book has been super helpful for a plant-based beginner like myself. I've been following the 2-week meal plan, using her grocery lists and loving it so far! The vegan paella is awesome, and if I'm not up for cooking the vegan chorizo, I will just add shrimp and this book makes me feel like I'm not a complete failure for doing so. This is making it WAY easier to introduce more plant-based options into my diet - something I never thought I'd realistically do.As the book clearly states, not ALL recipes are vegan but many are, and I thought it was a great idea to include both, especially for those of us who are curious about a vegan lifestyle but daunted by the idea of cutting out meat altogether.Awesome book!!
