Miskeen: The Dancing Horse (True Horse Stories)

This synapsis intrigued me enough that I wanted to read this story. It sounded rough but also sounded like someone loved this pony.

I am over 60 yrs old, a mad horse lover and animal advocate, and read just about everything I can find about them. This true story is about a horse in Russia and neighboring areas of Asia who ends up in a circus, and gives a story from the horse's point of view, about his experiences there, as well as a cruel punishment he suffered which he never deserved; it does have a reasonably happy ending. I personally liked the book, but would place the caveat that I think it might not be a good choice for some kids; It is a good advertisement for PETA, and makes one see circuses in an unfavorable way which some may find upsetting. (possibly not a bad thing!)

I am always on the lookout for good, new horse books for my daughter and she really liked this one.

The story tugs at my heart strings. The fact of the treatment makes me both mad and sad. I own a horse my self . A horse I love. And I think I would probably die if that happened to my wonderful horse . No horse or any animal needs this.

amazing book

This is a book for youth. As such, it would be engaging, and a valuable story regarding the treatment of animals in 19th Century Russia, and in circuses. It's a book for animal and horse-lovers.

was so embarrassed at the size of the book and as it was for a gift and I had no time to return it ,I had no other option but to keep it.

Love the book but I is smaller than I thought.
