The magical kingdom of Lucis is home to the sacred Crystal, and the menacing empire of Niflheim is determined to steal it. King Regis of Lucis (Sean Bean) commands an elite force of soldiers called the Kingsglaive. Wielding their kingโs magic, Nyx (Aaron Paul) and his fellow soldiers fight to protect Lucis. As the overwhelming military might of the empire bears down, King Regis is faced with an impossible ultimatum โ to marry his son, Prince Noctis to Princess Lunafreya of Tenebrae (Lena Headey), captive of Niflheim, and surrender his lands to the empireโs rule. Although the king concedes, it becomes clear that the empire will stop at nothing to achieve their devious goals, with only the Kingsglaive standing between them and world domination. Review: Just very well executed, animation at it's best. - When you watch these cgi animated films it is so well done that you could be mistaken for thinking it is real actors. I have seen all the Final Fantasy films & I think that the animation just seems to get better & better. It can't be easy matching up the visual mouthing of the characters with the actors voice overs, amazing! Also the settings they produce are awesome, a visual treat for the eyes indeed. Review: For Final Fantasy fans mainly - I decided to get this on Blu-Ray as being a bit of a movie snob i wanted the best quality. As I had started to play Final Fantasy XV i wanted the full details behind the game to fill in the gaps and not only does this movie do it, its also a great stand alone movie which any fan of the Final Fantasy series would enjoy. There is quite a lot of the mythos still missing in this "universe" but not enough to confuse, possible just my desire to know the full details causing me to see this as a negative. I paid ยฃ7 for this and will be keeping it with my collection and will watch again in the future

Great animation. Great audio
Great animation. Great audio. Decent voice acting bar 1 character. While the game XV has not come out yet, I did feel that this movie kind of gave some backstory to the world and the MC from the game. How much of this backstory will be told in the game is yet to be seen. I would say this movie is worth a watch as it has some epic fight scenes and beautiful animation with an okay story. If none of this backstory is shown in the game I believe this may be a must see.

Great movie if you're a fan, and excellent service by amazon!
This movie is amazing, one of the best CGI's I've ever seen! I ordered both Kingsglaive and Advent Children on the same day, and the package came really quick!

Spectacular and cool fighting battles
I must admit it does take some beating to beat Final Fantasy Avant Children! Final Fantasy Kingsglaive , just edges it. And the General, is just to slick and tough to beat. Quote, from the General. I told you before, one man can not win wars. You will not be disappointed.

Great purchase if you've played FFXV
Having played through the entirety of FFXV and loving the story, I spotted this. It was a worthwhile purchase if you've enjoyed the game and would like some back story. Great animation and good story featuring some familiar characters from the game.

Lacking the sense of completeness of the other films in the series.
It does provide entertainment, however the lack of a clear strong storyline and essential character development during the film leaves it somewhat stark. The graphics are superb and the detail level makes this cutting edge... If anything it feels to me like a very high quality, long cut-scene rather than a film.

Best film I have seen for months
Truly an amazing film. I never played any of the games but still enjoyed the film immensely. Deserves to be played with audio on full blast or via full surround sound as the audio is as epic as the visuals. Some say that the speech volume is too low. If not played at cinematic volume levelsthis is true, but like I said this is a film that deserves a "proper" viewing and not being played in the background without disturbing others in the room.

This movie is very well made, way better than some previous titles in the Final Fantasy Series. Excellent graphics, casual viewers would enjoy this movie.

I already own the blu ray (which I got with the deluxe version of the game), but I wanted to get this on DVD too since my blu ray player is currently not in use. I love this movie, especially when compared to the game. The game of ffxv is okay, but if someone asked me which I enjoyed more, I would choose this. For those who love ffxv or want to know what happened during the invasion of Insomnia, this movie will offer better insight and provide a more in depth view. However, be warned that there may be some obvious inconsistencies between this movie and the game (such as characters acting different, certain characters not even mentioned, certain smaller story elements not lining up smoothly). If you have no interest in the game but want to see this movie, be warned that this does end on something of a cliffhanger (which leads into the game of ffxv). However, this is still an enjoyable movie with relatable characters and an intriguing plot.
