Most mortals really have no clue how their computers use memory in doing the endless tasks we initiate each day. And for today's young students on a budget, memory is crucial. Many of these first laptops have 4-8GB installed and tiny hard drives to offer a low-price. I inherited one of these machines through one of my students. An 11th generation i5 CPU with 8gb of ram and piggy old WIN 11! UGH!! Hence the immediate search for more memory... The ADATA *GB DDR4 SODIMM (bought as a pair) transformed this nondescript laptop into a a much higher level productivity machine. Time to task of opening applications is easily 50% less than before plus the added bonus of being able to keep a few more tabs open without the machine slowing down. Like all modern SDIMM's these were literally a snap to install and took no more than 10 minutes from opening the blister packs to booting the laptop. Why only 4 stars? The price. I realize that the world of Crypto and AI servers have gobbled up every spare piece of silicon they can find and that we mere-mortals pay the price...but basically close to $100 for 16GB of memory is steep.

I bought an 8gb Ram laptop last year with Windows 11, only to discover that most of the Ram was taken up by hardware and the operating system, leaving just over 1gb for everything else. Switched off all unnecessary applications, but it still struggled to cope with more than three webpages open, and video editing was nigh on impossible. So ordered this from Amazon, and it arrived within two days. Took about fifteen minutes to install but that was due to the 11 screws on the laptop. Slotted easily into the spare slot on the motherboard, closed the laptop and presto was off and running. Now I have a healthy 9gb for webpages applications and video editing. It has breathed new life into my machine, highly recommend...

I received the order this morning. I verified it in the Adata portal and it's genuine. I installed the RAM, it's very simple. I rebooted the system. I could see RAM capacity was increased and the system performance is very good now. There is no lag and the transition is very fast now. Good purchase...!!!
