the best in the world in their respective fields
I can't write anything here without starring the book, which is awkward since I am the editor. But I won't ask you to take my word for it. "Ollam" has been reviewed by Prof. Robin Chapman Stacey at The Medieval Review (online review dated 17.09.07). Here is an excerpt:"The scholars represented in the volume are, quite frankly, the best in the world in their respective fields: had a reader approaching this volume entertained any doubts about the high esteem in which its dedicatee is held in the area of Celtic Studies, the Table of Contents alone would have been enough to quell them. There are essays here pertaining to Ireland, Wales, Scotland, and Iceland and representing a wide variety of subjects and disciplines, from the archaeology of the Early Irish souterrain to the love lyrics of the Early Modern pan-Gaelic world. All in all, this is a superb collection, stimulating, wide-ranging, and valuable to Celticists of all backgrounds and interests."I am proud to recommend the book to anyone with a special interest in Celtic Studies.
