Twisted Games: Twisted, Book 2

Damn. This book was everything I didn’t know I needed and more.
Twisted Games – ARC ReviewRating: 5/5Smut: 5/5I didn’t think I would love this book more than Twisted Love or that I would love Bridget and Rhys more than Alex and Ava. But a part of me loves Bridget and Rhys a smidge more I think.I remember saying in my review of Twisted Love, that the writing style was different for me and that it took me a while to get to grips with it in terms of connecting with the book. That wasn’t the case for me here, I’d connected instantly. Now I don’t know of that’s because like I’d read the first in the series and so the style wasn’t new to me. Or whether the writing in itself was better in this book. But either way, the writing in this book in my opinion was phenomenal. Because a lot happens in the course of the book though it didn’t feel at all slow or rushed. The pace was perfect, I think. At the end of part one, I did feel like it was a little rushed at the time. In the sense that, I felt like there were details between the lead protagonists of incidents that took place that we didn’t get to read at current time. They were mentioned in passing monologue by either protagonist e.g. when Bridget mentions Rhys lending her his coat. At the time I’d felt as though I’d have loved to read the moment in actual time. But as the story went on and especially, I think halfway through part two, I understood that this story was bigger than Bridget and Rhys falling for each other. The premise of the story was bigger than just them falling in love, it was about equality, feminism, it was about moving forward from outdated, archaic rules (that today still are common in some if not many monarchies). Most importantly conquering obstacles in their way, whilst fighting for their love.I loved the love story obviously, but I loved it more so because it had positive messages for both political and basic human right stances. And so, I mean if every single detail was written the book would be probably 3x as big as it was, if not more. And obviously, it’s all about the quality and not quantity. Overall, the book I think in terms of writing was so well structured and paced which is a great skill not many can perfect.I loved Bridget so much. The way she carries and conducts herself and just overall the kind of person she is. But at the same time her whit and sarcastic humour was hilarious.I loved seeing Ava and Alex in the book as well as the rest of the squad and their cameos. Especially in chapter 43-44 seeing Alex in action again was everything! I hadn’t realised how much I missed him until then, and it made me want to reread Twisted Love just for him. Alex says “information is power” it was SO Alex Volkov, that whole scene was EVERYTHING!The element of suspense and surprise in this book like in Twisted Love was amazing! Usually, I’m so good at knowing and predicting in storylines. But in both books of this series thus far I was stumped. Especially, the reveal of the bombshell in chapter 42 and part 2 of the bombshell reveal in chapter 49.. Holy.. I was jaw dropped. The smut and sexual tension between Bridget and Rhys in my opinion was hot as hell! I would like to forewarn that it is a dominant style smut with mild to medium notions of BDSM so, be prepared. Definitely more so than in Twisted Love. But I would say although it was dominant, it wasn't as rough or emotionless as traditional dominant/BDSM structures. In the book we see the two main characters only sleep with each other. When Rhys does call Bridget names in bed, to me it didn’t come across as aggressive or detached as usually expected in dominancy. So, it didn't sound as rough or mean, if that makes sense? I didn't mind it at all. I thought it was hot to be honest and Bridget also loved it too. So, I mean who am I to complain..?I loved the layout of the epilogue and how we got to see two such main events in both Bridget and Rhys’s lives. It was such a perfect ending.I absolutely cannot wait for Twisted Hate and Twisted Lies.I highly recommend this book!

meh
3.5 rounded up for the spice.I honestly really did want to rate this higher, but this was so predictable and I hate this so bad. There was two ways this story was going to pan out and up I was right. I did really enjoy Bridget and Rhys relationship, I though they fit really well together and enjoyed their romance, (I love me a bit of bodyguard) but this was just way too predictable and that makes me super sad. I really wanted to love this. And I enjoyed the smut and the original romance. However this book does have one of my most hated tropes, but I won't mention because spoilers! What to expect:• forbidden romance• age gap• forced proximity• slow burn and steammyyyyy!

One of my favourite books I've ever read
This book is fantastic! It's just such a feel good romance book as neither character does anything wrong to the other. Their issue is circumstantial and you just really like both characters from start to finish. It's funny, witty and very sexy. One of my all time favourite books, male character and female character. There's a very good reason why there's so much hype around this book and male character!

Not that happy
When I first recieved it,it was really late and when I finally got it the front cover was completely destroyed and the words were practically peeling off which really put me off reading it.But when I got over it the book overall is really good.

Fantastic spicy bodyguard princess romance
Chills. Literal chills. The bodyguard trope just climbed maaany steps on my favourite tropes ladder. I couldn’t put it down, especially the first half of the book where we had the build-up.Rhys: so close to the perfect man. I loved him. I loved that he wouldn’t even consider giving up.Bridget: I liked her a lot too. She was a fighter. It’s a slow burn and I liked that the story takes place in such a large time span. There was chemistry and love and some agony- it’s a book I will definitely re-read.-Dual 1st person POV-Spice: 🌶️🌶️.5Overall: 4.75/5 ⭐️ for me.

Bodyguard x Princess
Book 2 of one of my most loved series. Ana does not disappoint with Rhys and Bridget. I have not complaints about this book at all, I think I just would have liked a bit more tension in part 2, to keep me on the edge. But honestly still loved the book, was eager to finish and see how the book ended. Thank you again Ana for a beautiful book. I really loved the characters and am sad that as a couple they are in fourth place for me, but only because I loved the other three couples more. Please read this and share my passion for this book and the whole series.

Didn't want to put it down
"Twisted Games" is a compelling and heartfelt romance that goes beyond the surface-level love story. With its well-developed characters, intriguing plot, and emotional depth, it is a must-read for fans of contemporary romance. Ana Huang has crafted a tale that is both entertaining and thought-provoking, making it a standout in the genre. The book delves into themes of duty versus desire, the struggle for personal identity, and the power dynamics in relationships. It also touches on issues of trust, vulnerability, and the sacrifices one must make for love.Ana Huang's writing is captivating, with vivid descriptions and emotional depth. The dialogue is sharp and realistic, and the alternating perspectives between Bridget and Rhys provide a well-rounded view of their thoughts and feelings. The author skillfully balances steamy romance with heartfelt moments, keeping readers hooked from beginning to end.

Loved this one! Rhys and Bridget are fantastic!!!
I love a good bodyguard romance, and Rhys and Bridget were perfection, I was hooked instantly. Not only did it have a fantastic storyline but I loved both Rhys and Bridget’s characters so much. They complemented each other in every way and had an instant attraction, one they both refused to acknowledge and it had you giddy! My favourite part of the story was that it was set over a number of years. The timeline really made for an in-depth and realistic building of their connection and the story as a whole. I loved being able to see their relationship develop over the years as they went from, tolerating each other due to their positions, developing a friendship and camaraderie, and then watching them give into their chemistry.Bridget was badass and stepped into her role beautifully, considering if was one she never thought she would be in. I loved everything about her she was smart, compassionate, dedicated and her sass was they best addition. Rhys was everything you would want in an alpha male, ex navy seal bodyguard. Strong and silent, but oh so swoony. Let’s just say he was a softy for Bridget, but on the more perfect way.The character development in the book was great, I enjoyed seeing them evolve and change throughout the story as well as open themselves up to new possibilities and work through past issues. These two did everything they could to fight the very strong but forbidden feelings they had- years of built up tension and banter left for some explosive chemistry between them.I loved the couple little twist this book had as well, this book kept you guessing as to what it would be, and it unfolded wonderfully!I also love the small hints we got for then next two books in the epilogue, can’t wait for Jules and Josh’s story!I couldn’t put this book now, I think this is going to be my favourite of the series! Highly recommend is you love, a modern day princess and bodyguard, forbidden romance, with an age gap and forced proximity!5⭐️
