The disappointment of this camera comes with the feeling when you hold it, it feels cheap and made of plastic and it doesn’t mimic the same classic feeling of Nikon FE family. Also the top panel tiny LCD screen that shows the aperture is barely Visible even indoor, anyway I believe no one will use it even if it’s readable and clear, my believe here is that Nikon added it just to complete the look of its classic FE cameras. The autofocus of Nikon Z cameras (Z9 is exception) is fourth to canon, Sony and fujifilm, the same case is with this camera. Battery life is good, not great. ZFC adapter works well with this camera. The camera has no IBIS, lenses without VR will not be able to take any crisp photos in low light situation (indoor as example) in handheld mode. The EVF is very good, no issue with it The articulating screen is a big plus for this camera, the screen itself is bright and it has a good size, sharp and clear. The sound of the kit lens motors while they are autofocusing is noisy and gives you the feeling that the lens has an issue (friction-y), other Z lenses or EF/ EF-S/P adapted lenses does not have the same noise when they are mounted on this camera, the kit lens is made out of plastic, it’s light and not large, so you can carry it around easily, the kit lens does not come with zoom motors, away from the this, the kit lens completes the look of this camera. Talking about the image quality of the kit lens; it’s so good, no issue is there, and the VR function built in the kit lens is excellent, enabling the photographer to take handheld photos with somehow longer exposure without compromising the overall photo quality. But the kit lens alone will not deliver the full power of this camera, as mentioned earlier, look for VR lenses to get the best out of this camera. Videography wasn’t tested on this camera.
