This product is exactly as described and I am so glad I purchased them. They work! I had a problem with squirrels getting on my roof, so I installed one on the front part of the roof and one on the back part. The squirrels must think they are real, especially since the head moves when the wind blows, because they no longer get on my roof. You will need to fill the inside with rocks to weigh them down so that heavy winds will not blow them over. I am pleased with this product and the price. I would highly recommend these owls to anyone who needs to scare away pesky and destructive wildlife in a humane manner.

I was really impressed with these two fake owls that I bought to scare European starlings from taking roost in and around my barn. They are lightweight and there is a plug on the bottom that you open up and fill with sand or gravel. I tried water (as I didn't have any sand) but quickly learned that they are not water tight. So, I filled them with gravel from my driveway. Inside the owl comes a clear plastic piece that you remove and put onto the back of the owl's head -- this is basically a sail that catches the wind, allowing the head to swivel very realistically. I placed on of the owls on a fencepost outside my barn, and the other inside to scare the heck out of these pooping starlings, and so far, they seem to be doing the job. The one on the outside, I needed to fasten to the fence post to keep it from blowing over. This is perhaps one thing I would suggest could be improved about the owl -- which would be to make it easier or more secure to mount the owl. The plastic isn't real thick and so screws don't anchor very well into it, so I used 3 fasteners around the base to do the job.

Heads do not seem to turn with wind but they are keeping the squirrels out!!

So the actual Owls are cute, but their head supposed to move…. Is windy here and NOTHING…. Not moving at all… that’s the only thing that I didn’t like to be honest…..

Had Cardinals pecking at side view mirror and crapping all over sides of cars, these have worked to keep them away.

Great Value for the money. These are designed to add weight to prevent wind blowing them over. Also their heads swivel with breezes. We purchased them to deter birds from pecking on our windows. We also have one mounted over the jacuzzi to discourage birds from roosting. In the Fall they make great Halloween decorations as well.

This product is exactly as advertised, except the part about being effective. I purchased the two set to scare away birds from the dog's food/water. The instructions say to change location every couple of days to be effective. Well, despite placing the decoy in several different places, to no avail, now the birds share the perch with the decoy regardless of the constant rotation of location. the head spinning requires more wind than we have. This simply doesn't work--save your money or get a dog that doesn't enjoy bird watching.

I’m obsessed!!! So excited to get rid of all the birds that are pooping all over my furniture and taking over my covered patio cleaning massive amounts of poop is exhausting after a long day of work I know these work for sure because I’ve had them before at different homes so I knew I had to buy them again because now I live in A house that has a lot of beautiful trees and drop a lot of seeds and they have invaded my backyard as soon as they saw furniture out there, they started crapping all over it , bye bye birdie!(the clear plasticf fin that goes in the back of the owls head so it makes the head move with wind is inside the body of the owl take off the cork underneath pull it out put it on the back of the head and fill the owl with rocks or sand and plug it back up to give it some weight so it does not tip over )

I bought these after realizing that critters were getting into my vegetable garden. Buying a set was cheaper than buying one at a local hardware or big box store. Out of the package, one owl was dented, but I didn't think the squirrels would notice. The clear rudder on the back of the head is a nice touch to the bobble head, except it isn't very sensitive once set up. I wish a light breeze would move the head instead of needing a cat 5 hurricane. All in all, it was worth the spend. I'm seeing less damage from creatures, though my tomatoes are still getting nibbled on.
