Buy this Laptop!
Awesome computers. We bought two. We call them our beasts. You need a large backpack for them because we were not able to get laptop cases that would fit. They weigh 10 pounds, so don't be shocked. They do everything we ask of them, which is more than I can say for our monster desktops. I would buy this again, but I think these will last four or five years.

Do NOT BUY unless u love the light bleed
I have received the product and there is a massive light bleed on the top left corner..... im guessing the warranty doesn't do anything if im in Kuwait right ?

Good pc bad blacklight bleed
The pc is a good buy with great specs But unfortunately. It had way too mush blacklight bleeds in the screen so I had to send it back..if it didn't have that issue then I would give it a 5 star.

*terrible* Could be a great workstation/gamer/desktopreplacement Notebook
Update #3 (6/24/19): About 6 month ago this thing start making weird noises. At first I thought it was a fan inside, but apparently that is not the problem. It does not seem to be directly related to heat as the unit is not hot, at least on the outside where I could put my hand. The problems seems to come with use, though. It got to where I could not stand to use it. Then, to top that off, the screen started to develop a purple and down the center, from top to bottom. I am done with Acer for the rest of my days on this planet.Update #2 (2/26/17): I returned the first unit reviewed below for another just like it. The price was lower than $1400 too. The new unit had a much, much better screen in terms of backlight bleed. However, the ram I had still didn't work in the top slot, so I would have been stuck at 32 GB of ram with an unused stick of 16 GB ram. So, I returned that HyperX ram and got some Curical RAM (64GB kit). Now, I'm rocking 48 GB of RAM and all of it works! So, this unit like some of the ram out there and not others. Curical has a website app that tells you what RAM to buy for this unit. Avoid anything else. So, in the final analysis, I was able to get a good screen and all four ram slots filled. So, back comes the 1 star for the screen and the 1 star for the dead ram slot which probably wasn't dead in the first place.Update: I opened her up to upgrade the RAM to 48 GB (adding two 16GB sticks) and swap the 1TB HDD for a 1TB SSD. I found out that this unit only has one M.2 SSD drive bay with a 256 GB SSD installed. Also, one of the exposed ram slots is dead and if you install a RAM stick in it the machine will not boot. No good. This along with the backlight bleed is over the line for me, so this baby is going back. The machine works fine with 32 GB (in fact, it flies) but I'm not going to waste a 16GB stick of ram. I still like the machine a lot but I think Acer has some QC issues!I'm applying a 1-star deduction for the backlight bleed and a 1-star for a dead ram slot. I'm leaving the review at 3 stars simply because I can live with the backlight bleed and it runs great with 32 GB of ram. That is way more than most will need. Also, putting in the 1TB SSD is dirt simple and doesn't even require a screw driver. The upgrade is easy as pie to get done, so this machine would be great for many people. I cannot give it a five-star review though because who wants backlight bleed and who wants a dead ram slot? I didn't pay for that!!!------------------Ok....I got this Acer Predator 17 (G9-793-79PE) unit from Best Buy. Please note the part number G9-793-79PE as there are other versions of the G9-793-XXXX where the last for digits are different and those are slightly different skews and thus are configured differently. So be careful how you compare different Predator 17 units. Mine is configured EXACTly as the G9-793-79PE found here on amazon.com for which I'm providing this review. It has a GTX 1060 graphics card, which is fine for me as I don't plan to play games on this. I have had my unit for about a week at the time of this writing and I will update this review as I come to know this unit better through extended use.Right off, the reason I have deducted 1 star on this review is because my unit has significant light bleed. [** I decided to put the 1-star back since the bleed isn't a problem for me at all, when doing real work. I left my original statement in tact in case light bleed matters to other who wish to consider this machine. ** ] I can see it on dark scenes in movies and I do find it annoying. I have thought long and hard about returning my unit and I still may. The only problem is I have no idea how I can ensure that a different unit won't have the light bleed and I don't wish to get into a hunt cycle of buying/returning. I'm not going to be watching movies on this much, though, so from a practical standpoint, this is not going to be a major issue for me. But still, light bleed on a $1500 laptop? One would be justified to be upset about it.Note: the screen on this skew of the laptop (G9-793-79PE) supports gsync. Not all of them do, so beware of this. The description on this one says it but it can be confusing because some skews support gsync on an external monitor and not in the attached screen. Read the descriptions carefully. That support is part of the price differential, too.For my regular and intended use for this big and heavy laptop, it shines. It is fast and impressive to use. Of course, this is a gaming laptop and I'm not a gamer, so don't get this if you can't deal with the looks and the weight of the unit. It is heavy (slightly less than 10 lbs) and is not an everyday portable laptop for use on the go. Get this if you want a powerful workstation-class laptop that is expandable and has lots of ports and a full-sized keyboard. That you can take with you on occasion. The 17-inch screen is another reason to consider this unit. It looks good once you are working on stuff and not looking at a dark screen. You might not even notice the bleed. Just keep in mind that this is a gamer's laptop, and thus it is all blinged up and frankly, is gaudy. I don't care about that so much, though. It is easy to swap the 7200 rpm spinning-platter hard drive with an SSD. And it is easy to put in 32 GB of ram (the unit can go up to 64 GB of ram but you need to remove the motherboard to accomplish this). And it is easy to replace the m.2 boot SSD with a larger capacity one. This is what I care about. I haven't done any of these swaps yet, but I plan to do so on the RAM (to 32) and the spinning hard drive soon. The finish on this laptop is nice. It has some kind of soft-touch rubberized finish that just feels good to my hands. It does not appear to be a finger-print magnet for me, yet. The keyboard is large with a full number pad. The trackpad is nice, if not small and has illumination around it so it can be seen in the dark. The keyboard lights up with some rather funky looking mulit-color scheme, but it can be configured via software and even turned off. There are LEDs on the lid so in a dark room you will see red light coming off the screen. I'm not sure yet if it can be turned off but I plan to look into it. From a practical standpoint, though, I don't care about this. You might, though.Anyway, that's enough for now. If you need this kind of thing and can get it for $1500 or less, and all of this gamer bling doesn't put you off, this might work for you...I'll update this review once I make a decision about keeping it and then because to swap some parts to suit my use.The ports are great. 4 USB 3.0, one USB 3.1 type-C thunderbolt port, one HDMI (I don't have the details on which version it is), and a ethernet port, two jacks for audio/mic, and an SD card. My best buy unit also comes with a DVD writer that is swap-able with an included fan (for gamers). I wish it came with a blue ray, rather than a DVD, though. A free software DVD/BR player is included on the system.I wish I could say there was no bloatware on this, but there is. A trial of MS Office is here as as well as the DVD player software. Apparently, Microsoft is now forcing various crap software onto their systems these days, which is very annoying. I plan to remove all of it.

tres bon produit
Excellent produit !
