It's worth the premium, because the plastic ones break so quickly. We're on our second one of this model, because the 1st one did eventually break when daddy (me) stepped on it and broke the forklift. It is one of the smaller garbage trucks (less than 7-8 inches long), if that matters to you.

A: Great idea I think

**Q: Can this be a collector's item**
A: Sure

**Q: What material is this toy car？**
A: Mostly metal but the wheels and the parts that move are plastic.  My grandson is 3 and broke it in a matter of days.  I would not recommend for smaller children.

**Q: Is it suitable for kids？**
A: It really depends on the age.  The truck is very detailed and fairly sturdy. I gave them to 3 year old grandsons and they got pretty frustrated trying to operate the mechanism, doors etc. They were too young for it. The box says for 5 or 6 and up which is more appropriate.
