ALMOsT perfect
Oh what a joy it is to need to clean carpets, with rainy season, teenagers, a puppy and cream colored rugs... My stairs were the complaint of my house, but then we got a puppy. So here it goes. First of all, this thing is super easy to use, good cord length, very self explanatory, add water to one tank, plus cleaning solution, attach head and you're off and cleaning. I will truthfully say, I didn't expect what this little power house did. My bar was set relatively low but I needed to try it. I filled the tank and when the tank was empty, the dirty water tank WAS dirty, yay, but what impressed me was the fact that the dirty water tank was nearly as full as the clean water tank was when I started. Not exact of course but close! This tells me that my rugs will dry quickly and that the suction on this is excellent. I used it with the Hoover restore carpet cleaner, although it did come with sample bottles, I didn't know and I had ordered the shampoo. Every single spot is gone. Every single spot! I have so much more to tell you. Ok so the little suction head thingy has these rubbery silicone material teeth below the sucky area so when you're moving the head it actually lifts the pile and makes your rug all fluffy. I knew from the description that the hose was self cleaning but man that's just cool. So it's time to clean up, I go to the sink, open up the bottom of the dirty tank, which I could have just opened the little easy empty tab but, well, I wanted to see how well I could clean it up. I want it to last. Every single part was cleanable! I mean every part, so I take of the bottom of the dirty tank, rinse those parts and pieces, disconnect the sucky head, run how water through that, when I see the tab, even THAT opens more to fully rinse it out, then I push the hose (without the head) into the self cleaning part, hit the power button and I see the remaining clean water rush through the hose and into the dirty tank. So I rinsed the tank again. Next time I'll do that step before I empty the dirty tank. Nice, neat, tidy and compact so it fit right on the shelf in my garage. But I do have one tiny kind of complaint. When pressing the trigger to spray out the cleaning solution, it doesn't totally just stop spraying when I let go of the trigger so I had to press the other side to stop it. If you don't love holding down the trigger, this could be a cool feature for you, but for me, I press when I want it to spray and let go when I don't. Its almost like an on/off switch, on to spray, but I had to press the "off" side to stop. Overall very very happy. It removed way more water from the rug than my big full sized machine. I'm a fan. Hope this helps.

Clean couches DO exist!
Wow! This thing is pretty awesome! I bought this specifically to clean my couch. With 6 animals and 2 kids - I have tried practically every product on the market to keep my couch decent. I was actually thinking about tossing the darn thing to the curb and investing in seat cushions for the floor when I came across this machine. (ok, ok, I wasn't truly serious about the idea, but the thought did cross my mind. lol) In all reality though; who actually likes to shampoo their couch?! There's nothing worse than spending hours of labor trying to clean something only for it to look like you never cleaned it at all when you're done. This machine changed everything for me though. First, it's extremely easy to set up and use. Second, it works. Third, it's easy to store and put away. A few things worth mentioning: - I absolutely LOVE the attachment that allows you to remove the cover and truly clean the inside suction area. - the suction is powerful enough to remove the stray fur that my pre-vacuuming missed, even with the couch wet! - the spray nozzle has a wide area of coverage. This was a little tricky for me since I happen to be cleaning a sectional that has built in power outlets in the center consoles. The spray also got the floor a little wet when I got to the edges. I found that gently squeezing the nozzle gives you more of a water drip spray than a power nozzle spray. - the built in hose cleaner is awesome too. Dirty hoses = smelly water odor. I read some reviews that mentioned that it leaked at the base of the machine. This was NOT the case for me. Not a single drop leaked from my machine. I was also very generous with the water when spraying the nozzle and put medium effort into the repeated action of sucking it all up. It took me about an hour to do my 5 cushioned sectional sofa, including the console section, back rests, and arm rests. By the time I finished the last cushion the first cushion I started with was already starting to dry. The cord is quite long for the size of the machine, but I do wish it was a couple feet longer since I had to switch outlets to finish the other half of my couch. I also wish the hose was a little bit longer as well so it could reach the top of my highback, oversized couch while being able to leave the machine on the floor. The hose measures approx 45 inches (unstretched, not including the attachment); my couch height measures 44 inches and has large deep seated cushions. The hose doesn't quite extend across them enough to give me the height needed to reach the top. This was not a big deal to me though since the machine is light enough to lift and hold in one hand while cleaning with the other. This also wouldn't be an issue for most standard sized sofas. Overall, I still hate cleaning the couch but that's not the fault of the machine. At least now it actually looks clean when I'm done as opposed to the other products I've tried in the past.

Hoover Spotless vs. Bissel Little Green Clean Machine
I mostly use these small machines for automotive interior cleaning, and the occasional spot cleaning an area rug. For years I have used a Bissel little green machine I purchased in the 90's (still working too). But I loaned that out and have not been able to clean my automobile carpet for a while now. So in comes the new Hoover, The Hoover seems to have more suction power than the Bissel. Which may be a good thing for the Hoover as it just dumps the solution out in a heavy spray. The Bissel gave a finer, light spray which I prefer as it did not soak the area. So, suction good, solution spray bad. The Hoover solution tank has to be turned on its face and filled through the back. The measurement marks are for when the tank is in its upright position. So you fill it, lift and look, tilt and fill, lift and look. I guesstimate that when filling to the top line, while at the kitchen tap filling with warm water, leave it about 1/2" from the back sides surface will get you to the top "Large Mess (0.4 Gallon)" line. Once attached to the machine, a trigger pull gets the solution in no time. The Bissel has a bottle (remember this is a 90's machine and not like what they sell today) That gets disconnected from a hose. Fill it and pull the hose up from its well, attach to bottle, turn over and drop the bottle in. If the machine ran dry of solution, it was a bit of work to get it flowing again. The trigger for the solution on the Hoover is a bit large and easy to hit, even when you don't want to. Fill and measure for the Hoover loses. getting solution to flow wins. The country has gone to the dogs, so everything is about pets. The pet cleaning solution I threw away and purchased Hoover's Deep Clean and Restore. This seems to work as well as the Bissel solution I would use. Always use a cleaning machine solution as products like Purple Power for instance will foam a lot and make a mess in the recovery tank. The Pleasure Nub on the tool head is worthless. I don't have pets and I don't shed. I had to take a toothbrush to spots to loosen the stains. After the very first use, I went to Hoover and found a bristle attachment (see uploaded image). Now I can give the person their toothbrush back. Would have been very nice if Hoover packaged both the nub and brush in with the machine (or preferably just the brush attachment). But it makes sense to package only the nubs and solution that are more useless to many so they will have to purchase what is of better use. The world was not gaga over dogs when I purchased my Bissel so it came with the right stuff to start with. The Hoover solution tank is nicer than the old Bissel. They are both easy to remove, but the Bissel was open and could easily spill if you let it get too full. Hoover for the win. Even though carpets look clean and you vacuum them often enough. Walking through parking lots and other places picks up filth on your shoes. The uploaded image of a recovery tank shows what came out of clean looking automotive carpet. Cleaning the hose is great! I always clean my machines after use. The Bissel I would run the water hose and tough the vacuum head to the stream. Had to do this lightly so not to put a strain from the heavy flow onto the machine. Hoover, add some plain water to the tank, remove cleaning head, hold in back of machine and turn it on. Once the solution tank is empty, with the machine still running, I hold the hose up high and shake allowing as much moisture to get drawn into the recovery tank from the hose as possible. Now that I have my brush attachment which I had to purchase separately. All that is left that I don't like is the heavy solution spray. But I am still glad I made the purchase.

This was a spot cleaner I loved, and then the updated version somehow was even better!
I have three cats, and two of them barf quite a bit. Any cat owner knows... they will move to carpeting to barf, rather than barf on a hard surface. Why make it easier for their staff? That's not how cats work! Us puny humans exist to serve them, but they do not feel a need to make our jobs easy! But I digress. I originally bought this cleaner back in October of 2021. I loved it. I used it very frequently, and it did an amazing job on spot cleaning the carpeting - even on the white carpeting in basement. ...why would anyone put white carpeting in the basement?!? I don't know, but that's what was there when we bought the house! About a month ago, I noticed that the fill cap on the solution tank was cracked. This wasn't a huge problem, so long as you held the tank upright as you carried it. Once it was in the machine, there was no leakage. I did look to see if I could order a replacement part from Hoover. Much to my dismay, the $3 replacement part was out of stock (supply chain issues, I'm sure). I decided to take a stab in the dark, and I emailed their customer service department to see if they actually had an extra fill cap just laying around the warehouse. They did not have the part, but they offered to do a full warranty replacement! I went through those motions, and they sent me the replacement, which happened to be the updated model. Listen, I loved the one I originally bought, but somehow... they made it even better! They corrected few minor design flaws (some of which were mentioned on the original reviews I read): 1) The rubber on the original tool was red, and when I first started using it, it could leave a bit of pink behind on the white carpeting. After it was broken in, I stopped having the issue. But, on the upgraded model, they changed the rubber to a very light gray - problem solved! I didn't have to go through the same breaking in period! 2) The dirty water tank IS SO MUCH EASIER TO EMPTY AND CLEAN NOW! On the orginal version I purchased, cleaning the dirty tank properly involved quite a few steps, and could take more than just a little bit of time. You had to disassemble it pretty throughly, and use brushes to get in there and really clean it out. With this uprade, it takes a fraction of the time to clean the tank, and is super easy! It's just a release of a latch, you pour out the dirty water, you rinse it out in the sink, you put it back together! Bing, bang, boom, easy peasy! If you have a bunch of little anarchists (I mean, furry overlords!) living with you, this machine is a huge help in cleaning up their messes. It does a really excellent job. Hoover's customer service was amazing, and I think they really listened to the criticisms about the previous model, and they made some really great changes to a machine that I already loved - and somehow made it better!

Amazing!!
Alright, so here's the deal. I normally don't write many reviews but I had to for this because of the few negative reviews that made me a bit hesitant to buy this product. If you want to skip all this mumbo jumbo just skip to the last little paragraph. I'm a broke college student with two dogs AND two cats. My place is a never ending mess. I clean one mess up and turn around to another one. My dogs spend a lot of their day rolling around outside in the dirt before coming inside to get it all over my furniture. The cats, well, they are just cats doing cat things. Even with constantly washing my dogs and vacuuming the dog hair off my couch, I began to notice a dark appearance where the dogs like to lay on the couch. I love them too much to kick them off the couch (this is their home just as much as it is mine) so I came to the conclusion that I needed a carpet cleaner. I didn't want to spend over a hundred dollars on a carpet cleaner so I was looking at smaller cleaners like this one. The reviews scared me. Leaks, the rubber rubbing off, arriving with water having sat in the machine and not to mention I couldn't find one review on how this thing handled against pet hair. I decided to take the chance. Prime shipping so I was very excited to see it at my gate two days later. It was packaged nicely and it was COMPLETELY dry. I put it to the test immediately. Like a few reviews said, the solution tank does leak a bit. No problem. I can clean up a few drips of cleaning solution. The recovery tank does not drip at all. I would have been a lot more upset having the dirty water tank leak. Initially, when I placed the solution tank onto the unit, water began to pour EVERYWHERE. I was disappointed. I felt like I had just wasted $80 but I wasn't ready to give up. The answer was simple. The bottom of the solution tank has a rubber ring on it meant to keep water from overflowing once you put it on the unit. I eased it off and turned it around. No more mess. It was too simple of a fix to even complain about. Overall, I am beyond happy with this machine. The solution tank leak is the only true issue that Hoover could work on but it's not enough of an issue to keep me from using this machine. I've had no bad experiences with the red rubber piece rubbing off on my furniture and I've been aggressive with it. The suction is wonderful and has yet to disappoint. My favorite part of this machine is its ability to keep up with all the hair from my double coated German Shepherd as well as the rest of my animals. The self cleaning is icing on this wonderful cake. Self clean, open everything up the dry and then it's ready to be put away. If the scary reviews make you hesitant, maybe this one will help a little. I was impressed by this little machine. Thanks Hoover!

Highly Recommend Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner
We used the BISSELL Little Green Machine before we discovered this powerhouse, and we will never go back! The machine itself is sturdy and appears to be made with quality materials. Out of the box, it took only minutes to assemble. Regarding its cleaning power, it does an excellent job cleaning a variety of different types of materials. Thus far, I have used it to clean both of our mattresses, our basement couch (which collects a lot of dog hair), the carpet on the stairs, and the interiors of both of our cars. The soap tank empties relatively quickly withs good water output, but it has great suction power and does not leave the cleaned surface wet. For the price, this product is well worth the purchase.

End of 2021 and this machine is a joke! Instant Return. AVOID IT!
DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK MACHINE! Basically this unit is nearly useless and should be removed from where anyone can buy it. Despite reading many of the reviews here. I still wanted to give it a try and have a shampoo machine ready for those pet accidents and general spills that happen. After testing the unit right out the box with plain, room temp water. It seemed to do all the bad things you will read below from other buyers. Leaks, lousy design, poor suction and loud, (but all vacs are noisey and not a true negative). And the picture at the top of the page shows additional items that I did not receive. First off the pictures shows 2 different floor heads, 1 clear with red brush attached to the hose and machine and 1 foggy with gray/black brush under the solution bottle. I only received the foggy head with red brush. Where is the second head or even second brush?? Now as for others claiming leaks. YUP! it leaks out the dirty side pretty quickly as the dirty water side fills up. And yes the tank was perfectly seated in the spot it sits and latched. It is actually leaking near where the vacuum exhaust is and blows the dirty captured liquid across the floor where this unit is sitting. So, not only does it not hold ALL the dirty water, it will blow it across another section of floor. IMAGINE THAT?? You just cleaned up your dogs mess at spot (A) and some of it was blown across your floor to spots (B,C,D,etc). Now for the part you need to pay close attention to. And why you should not waste your time with this joke carpet cleaner. When the machine is on and suction is running. You can feel a mild suction in the head where you expect it and also everywhere along the handle and hose. THERE ARE NO SEALS for the hose and head. It CAN NOT concentrate suction to the the thin slit on the head. It is sucking air from every crack and joint from the unit along the hose to the head. And even worse the head is removable to get clogs out and there are no rubber/silicone seals to stop air/water leaks on the head. This is built to be cheap and sadly it is. Half the suction is lost to leaks and the suction you do get is not enough to suck any pet problem or stain out of carpet. I tested will plain water in my sink and it leaked everywhere and barely got all the water from a smooth steel sink. Without a tube of silicone caulk. This will never suck enough liquid from carpet to be anymore useful than towels and blotting. Others warned you with their reviews. I too have tried. I paid good money. Amazon drove this to my door. Hoover put their name on it. ALL these people wasted their time because this Spotless Carpet Cleaner is GARBAGE and based on what I hear happens to returns. I am saddened by the likelihood I have added more to the problem with this bad product. Its only use is to be a landfill filler. STOP MAKING THIS PRODUCT HOOVER! DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK MACHINE!

Hoover Sucks!
Yes, Hoover sucks so well this 18+yr Bissel buyer will never go back. Bought this back in Feb 2017 when my last Bissel caught fire out of the box and it was suggested to me by the owner of repair shop I had to take it to get fixed (no he did not have any in stock to sell to me told me to go to Amazon). I withheld review for over a year to give a not out of the box review. After over a year, I love this thing. It sucks so well the nasty water section fills before you use all the solution (if use for big messes), as it should but never has happened in other products (ahem bissel little green) ever. With 3 kids a dog, 4 cats and fish tanks. I abuse the hell out of this thing. I use them on carpets (full room bedrooms qty 2), all our mattresses, area rugs, furniture and even our cars. I only have used the Hoover solution one time and that's what came in the box. Have used other brands, off brands, and most commonly a homemade vinegar solution with a drip of fabric softener. Although I do abuse this little guy, I vacuum prior to each use and I do clean it after each use. Here is my run down. Pros: * Sucks well enough it is safe to use on area rugs directly on the hardwood. No dampness ever reaches the wood. Will even use it over towels and\or a wet\dry vac if there is a big spill of water (ahem fish tanks), juice, etc. * Rugs, whatever are lightly damp and dry very quickly. Unlike waiting dir hours with other brands. * Weight is realistic enough can yank it by the hose while cleaning, if needed, and do not need to worry about it toppling over and spilling. * Dirty water seal will not leak when removing for dumping. * Base unit does not leak, like ever. No cleaning your carpet and moving to a new section to see you have a mess under the unit to deal with now. * Noise level is that of a normal household vacuum. No need for ear protection if doing a small enclosed area. * Longer hose that some models so not constantly banging your elbow into the unit while scrubbing. * Easy to take apart and clean. * Self cleaning feature makes sure you don't have anything nasty left in the tubes or in base so no need to worry about that nasty going onto the next time you clean when you pull it out. * Can hear that when it's still sucking up water. Sound on items that no longer need sucked is different than those that still do. * Sucking power has lasted with time. * Dirty water fills faster than solution tank empties. Some may think this is a con but of you are picking up nasty and dirt, it does have a weight and mass to it so it should fill faster. Shows me its not just throwing water down and picking up a little bit to make you think it's cleaning. Cons: * Hose where handle is is kinda kinked due to how it stored can be obnoxious while doing right places. However, have not met a cleaner that does not have this issue. * No easy way to dry the unit other than air drying. Would love to be able to use it and put it away the same day without it being a fixture in a bathroom waiting to dry. * Opaque top for section so can't see it as well as other brands\models actually sucking up the water. Please refer to above under Pros where I noted that it does make a different sound when it is done sucking. * No easy way to fill solution tank with solution without a funnel and or measuring cup with a spout. * When removing the solution tank for a refill you will get 1 or 2 drops fall from it. but again I have never had anything fall from the dirty water tank. 2 drops of cleaning solution to me is no biggie. If this guy ever breaks I will buy the same one again and again. Money well spent on a product that can take abuse and constantly perform as it has done right out of the box!

Poor service Amazon and Exborder
Poor product. Broke down on second use. But worst is poor service by Amazon and Ex border the importer. So once you purchase, you are on your own for any thing happening beyond 10 days. My worst experience so far.

Muy buen producto, funciona mejor de lo que imaginé, solo que si quieres limpiar algo grande como una sala completa si tienes que estar vaciando varias veces el contenedor
