UPDATE: Been using this on my desk for over a year now. I don’t use my desk every day; I use it an average of a few days a week so the mat gets minimal-moderate use. Still in great shape, like new. Stays put too. I use a lint roller on it when needed. Still love the look. I’ve just opened this and added it to my desk. I bought it to replace an older, smaller, pleather one. Seems like decent quality. It covers an appropriate portion of my 60” desk surface. I no longer need a mouse pad. I like its minimalistic look. Can’t speak on its durability or grippiness as I’ve not officially sat at my desk to study since opening it 15 minutes ago. Happy with the purchase initially though.

This comes in a light grey or dark grey, almost black. I opted for the darker one although I was torn. It arrived in a robust tube, well wrapped inside. It's rolled up so that when you place it on the desk, the curl is downwards, so it doesn't curl up on both ends, if that makes sense. Having said that, you really do need to place a few heavy things on each end (like a large book) to get that curl straightened out. People have complained about it but, in my experience, you just need to be patient and it will eventually go flat. I'm pleased with the thickness, it's thin but still has substance to it. The felt might feel a little scratchy to some people but it feels fine to me. It comes with a strap that you can use to roll it up if you are taking it somewhere and it also comes with a good quality mouse pad so that is a nice bonus. On a large desk like mine, it looks really sleek and I'm very happy with it.

I honestly wasn't sure a big desk mat would make a difference, but this one is awesome. The size is perfect—40''x16''—so it covers my entire desk where my keyboard and mouse go, protecting the wood and making everything look really tidy and put-together, which is a huge win for my cluttered setup. I just replaced this pad even though I liked a lot for a few minor reasons which might bot be a problem for most. I didn't like the feeling of "felt" as much as I like the new one which is more like a mouse pad. This made it more prone to picking up lint etc and a little harder to clean but still pretty easy with a light brush or vacuum. The backing could have used more rubber as it tended to slip around a bit when using it but again, if you had a pc on top of it or other things weighing it down, not an issue. I was expecting something different when I received this so naturally I am a bit more biased towards the new one I just received today. HAving said that, this is a great desktop/ mouse pad for those on a budget who wouldn;t pass it by for design issues that someone like myself might have with it. Great value for the money. I will use it in another location anyway.

I purchased this desk mat to use as a solid background for product and tech photos, and it works perfectly. The material looks great on camera and adds a clean, professional look to my workspace. Decent quality felt desk mat for the price. Bought for work use roughly 7 months ago. Mat is a good size and doesn’t slip on the bottom. Nearly all downsides are a result of the felt material. This was my first felt pad, and I should have gone with a different pad type. For all-day work, the felt was initially a little abrasive on my forearms. I did adjust somewhat to that over time, but it is one reason I’m tossing and going with leather. Over time, dead skin and other small particulates get embedded – this is felt. Vacuuming it or similar probably would do a good job of cleaning, but this is an office mat; switching to something like leather or even a poly mat would be lower maintenance and not require addl tools. My biggest complaint is in higher-use areas, the felt is now pilling up, similar to an old blanket. It’s not attractive, nor does it help with the friction on your hands/arms. There are tools out there designed to remove pills from fabric, but I’m not interested – will replace with a leather mat. For lighter use, this is an attractive, good option. Not for me.

I was a little wary of purchasing this mat due to some negative reviews, but I’m glad to have read them. Others have noted that the anti-slip rubber knots on the underside cause indentations in their desks, but I haven’t had that issue, likely because my desktop is not real wood and is a harder material than a solid wood desk. I also haven’t noted any wear from daily use for over 3 months. In the photos you’ll see that I still use a mouse pad over the mat. It’s kind of necessary, especially if you play any sort of game with your mouse. The fabric of the mat is just too rough without it, and I think not using one would cause wear pretty easily in that one spot. It took a few days to eventually flatten out and didn’t have any odor that I could tell. Plus, my cat, Evie, absolutely loves sleeping on it, and her fur (which she sheds off 24/7) is hidden very well in the mottled color of the mat. It’s the perfect size for my desk, which is approximately 54” x 24”. Overall very happy with the purchase.
