While it would easy to say this was all due to a secret government debunking program, Friedman and Marden show us that some of the personalities involved seemed to do this for their own motivations, however backward looking and selfish those might be. They simply weren't open to the evidence and devised the most ridiculous, over-simplistic, and hare-brained counter-explanations for truly perplexing sightings. Project Blue Blue comes off as the superficial and predetermined endeavor that it was. The candid and revealing conversations between Friedman and Brigadier General Carrol Bolender are nothing short of astounding and are essential to understanding why the public is so uninformed and confused over this issue. There are also some detailed case studies of well-documented but still mysterious encounters unexplained to this day.
