I did not want to spend big more for a coat she would never wear again. This long black rain coat fit the bill and can be used again! It’s a great medium weight and I like the reflective strips. We tucked the hood in for her costume but I’m sure it will come in handy. She is almost 12 and the 10-12 fit with room to grow. It fits as expected, with just a little room to grow in. The hood offers full head coverage from the rain. The coat is of a stiff material, and seems sturdy for regular use, though it is flexible enough to allow for movement. It provides full coverage on the legs (in this size for a 7 year-old). The maroon color is a nice change from the normally overly bright colors of kids' clothing and the reflectors are very useful. We often take walks in the rain when it is already dark and I noticed that the reflectors make her visible to cars.
