Fair Warning: The Instant Number One Bestselling Thriller : Connelly, Michael: desertcart.ae: Books Review: Review: Fair Warning in the third book in the Jack McEvoy series by Michael Connelly and was first published in 2020. Jack McEvoy is now working for the internet consumer news website Fair Warning which has offered him many opportunities to report since he moved to the team. It had meant downsizing from his previous property and the royalty cheques were getting fewer but at least his was still working. One evening as he gets home to LAPD detectives approach him in the parking lot of his apartment building. He is asked if he knows a Tina Portrero and he acknowledges that he did and that he had been on a date with her the year before. Before he knows it he is a suspect in her murder and the LAPD are looking at him as a serious suspect. McEvoy reporter instincts kick in and decides he will investigate what happened to Portrero and at the same time be able to clear himself of any involvement. He manages to convince his colleagues at Fair Warning to help and former FBI agent Rachel Walling. All of whom bring in different skills which he greatly needs. What he did not expect to find that a DNA ancestry website was involved in selling DNA to third parties and some third parties were abusing the use. Not only that but this would bring the investigation in to the dark web and the world of the incel. Where aggressive misogyny is rampant and women are not human but to be abused. Whoever killed Tina Portrero up until McEvoy’s involvement had covered their tracks well, and he and the team were finding that whoever had committed the murder was no novice. They even have to take precautions to make sure they do not become the hunted. An exciting and enjoyable thriller from the king of the American thriller genre.

This is another great novel but with a fresh story line. In exploring how much information is available through genetic testing companies selling data they mine from our voluntary genetic samples many contribute to find out about their family geneology, Connelly winds in another great adventure that kept me reading way past my bedtime.
