I notice that the price is cheaper today, so it might be one of those items that fluctuates in price a lot - so keep an eye on it & get a better deal than I did :-) This seat was a bear to install, due to tight spot that our toilet stool is located in. In addition, we have a different type of stool - that is all one piece in design rather than the detachable tank with stool, so there was no room for my husband to work. He tried, said some bad words, & gave up. I'm pretty hand, but have never installed a toilet seat before, but figured I might as well try. We chose black, because my son has disabilities that result in him being messy in the restroom (which is why he has his own bathroom) & is on medication that can cause stains - we're hoping the black seat will not stain or at least not show stains as much as the white ones we've had in the past have. I'm sorry if this is too much info for those of you that this doesn't apply to, but I felt obligated to mention it, because there may be those out there that are struggling with similar issues & frequent replacement of toilet seats drains the wallet after a while. Update: We have not had to tighten this seat up (after several months), which is extremely unusual for seats used by my son. My son tends to 'plop' down - he can't lower himself gently with his disabilities. A handicap rail helps slow him down, but he still manages to rough up his seats. In addition, my husband used this seat (other bathroom was out of commission for a couple of days) and my husband (who has gained back all of the weight that he'd managed to lose) commented that this seat was comfortable for him. This is coming from a man who has been insisting that someone must have moved the arms on his dining room chair closer together and that the car seat somehow shrank.
