For years, I used a different brand of alternative teeth cleaning solution and raised my kids on it. They never had a single cavity. Then my kids got older, started to have sleep overs and wanted to use what other kids were using. I'm not saying that convention teeth cleaning products caused it in any way but within 1 year, my younger son had a tooth that decayed so quickly that one tooth was eaten through. The dentist was shocked, as I was of course. My kids, husband and dentist all insisted on continuing with conventional products so we did. My 16 year old now had 5 cavities...we're not sure WHY he's getting so many...he had braces removed and has to wear a retainer every day so we're thinking food particles, mixed with saliva are likely settling in his retainer and causing further damage. He's got to have implants when he's in his mid 20s from missing several tooth buds (genetic) so it's important for him to wear his retainer and to maintain the health of his teeth. I take my kids to the dentist every 6 months...my older son has to go every 3 months to monitor for more cavities since at his 6 month visit, she found more cavities despite us coming in for deep cleanings, getting him an electric toothbrush and using their high concentrate fluoride toothpaste. So I'm taking another turn and we'll observe how the next 6 months go. If we can simply STOP the progression of more cavities, I'll be happy but if by chance, we can prevent the current ones that aren't bad enough to fill OR reverse the damage in some, I'll be shouting from the rooftops and tell everyone about this. Since he's home for the summer and not at school during the day, he'll be brushing 3x a day and I'm making sure he's taking a multi-vitamin and mineral supplement in case there's a mineral imbalance going on. We've taken tests from the pediatrician and they saw nothing out of balance. I bought each of my kids and myself a set and even from using it the first time, I REALLY like how CLEAN it made my teeth feel. A tub should last a while. I wet my brush and simply dip it in the tub. I am unsure it will prevent cavities (the only reason for taking one star off). It's an excellent alternative to fluoride toothpaste. It does whiten teeth and tastes good and freshens breath. I would purchase again and I have already recommended this. I did not like seeing titanium dioxide in some brands (it causes cancer in animals).
