PERFECT FIT. SNUG. Can be separated without tools.. SOLDERS WITHOUT MELTING. SATISFIED !
Amass XT60 Connectors These genuine Amass connectors slip together easily and stay snug. They won't ever come apart on their own but can be pulled apart without a big fight. No tools needed. The plastic is a little bit flexible. The cover collars snap on and stay firmly attached. You will need a pair of pliers to remove the cover collars, which is as it should be. These connectors are a pleasure to use. NOW ABOUT THE SOLDERING I have almost zero experience soldering anything, but I do own a huge soldering gun the size of a 9 mm pistol. I use it to repair cracks in large plastic pots that I grow peach trees in. I expected to melt several of these XT60 connectors before getting it right. Many reviewers of knock off XT60s complained of the plastic melting and of being brittle and cracking. So, I bought genuine Amass connectors. Happy that I did ๐. After watching a demonstration of how to solder I stripped 1/8 inch of insulation off a wire, clamped it in a vice, and melted a dab of solder onto it. It wicked into the bare wire end. Next, I mounted an Amass XT60 connector in the vice and touched some solder with the monster gun until a drop of solder dropped onto the gold-plated stud of the XT60. Held the tip on it longer and soon the solder spread into the cavity of the stud. Lastly, I touched the bare wire to the prepared stud, held the hot solder gun tip to the wire and, in a little while, the solder blended together. DONE. On the first try even! It's solid and looks good. ๐ I feel that with a proper soldering pen (that doesnโt have a tip the size of a butter knife) even a total novice can do this. Just watch YouTube demos and USE A CLAMP. This is a three handed job!

Excellent quality connectors
Excellent quality connectors. Soldered my 12 awg wiree on with zero issues. Connection is firm, but not difficult to disconnect. Very very happy with them.

Excellent but they do melt
Nice tight connections, with the "boot" offering additional purchase for your fingers when pulling apart a connection (they are small and snug!) without stressing your solder. Cored solder tins the metal well. I used 14 AWG wire with a bit of room to spare both for the metal wire on metal cup and the boot hole over my silicone wire insulation. The cups of 3mm and boot holes of 5mm should accept 10AWG. The boot is a snug fit on the connector taking effort to attach, it will not pull off without prying. TIP connect a pair of male and female connectors while soldering as a 100W iron *will* melt the plastic and could loosen the pins. Once I used this trick there was no concern for warping the pins out of alignment regardless of heat. Be advised that a small gift is implicitly offered for reviews which may skew the stars, but perhaps not this one. I cannot rate their service for problems as I am satisfied. I would buy again.

Switched all my gear to these, easy to solder
Was tired of the mix of connectors (deans/ec3/ec5/xt30) on my various radio control gear. After doing some internet searches found these to be best. The xt60 are rated to meet or exceed any of my load amperage use (60 amp or less in my case), polarized to prevent plugging in wrong and made solid. Soldering was easy enough. Cut one wire at a time, strip some insulation and twist wires a bit then slide protective cover on and insert into plug. Used a solid 40amp iron with large tip and 60/40 tin/lead rosin core solder. Flowed well making good connection. No melting of plastic housing. Does get hot during process, I use "helping hands" with alligator clips to hold while soldering. Have done over 12 battery packs and 10 esc's with zero defects. Good purchase if you have decent soldering iron and solder and some kind of holding tool for doing this. Tip: low power soldering irons and fine tips, flux/resin less solder and lack of clamping device- don't bother, result would be poor cold solder connections and failure with use.
