Thoroughly entertaining
This has become my most favourite out of all of Christopher Doyle's books. It is the perfect amalgamation of fantasy, mythology and technology and I can't believe I finished it in just a couple of days! The Sangha alongwith Satyavachan and "Saptas" continue their fight against Shukra and his monsters. There wasn't a moment when I wasn't intrigued. The author brilliantly navigates through all the characters and plots to give us a story which won't let you rest. We can clearly see the shift in the characters and their relationship. We actually feel them grow from being children to being adolescents. The characters are so vivid and real that you feel attached to them. The author has expertly written a particularly long action sequence which was breathtaking and I loved it to the core.Maya continues to be my favourite character. She has to unnecessarily go through a lot of struggle to prove her worth but she continues to hustle nevertheless. I am also growing fond of Raman Kapoor. I think we can really take some inspiration from his determination and never-say-die attitude. The rest of the characters are equally effective and invoke emotions that they should. There is also a huge surprise for readers who have read all of Christopher Doyle's books. If it grows into something, I feel it will trump all the other series I have read so far.Again, the author has superbly explained the science behind some of the phenomena we might say are supernatural. It has generated great interest in me to read more about the science behind them. With enough plot twists and monsters, this book will definitely keep you hooked from the first page to the last and the end will make you wait eagerly for the next book of the series!

Good but lost touch compared to his previous book
Christopher doyale always amuses me with his avid knowledge of history and fantastic historical plots.. his earlier books were off the charts.. I would have given a 5 star but this part 2 of pataala prophecy has somewhere lost it's touch like the previous book... But overall a good read

Exciting
The book itself is exciting. I enjoyed the first one in the series and the second is also similarly good. I wasn't expecting much honestly before reading these and looking at the title alone. I thought they would be another retelling of mythology which I have personally got tired of. But it was different - this is a fantasy series for young adults as I found out when I started reading but it was interesting enough so I stuck with it even though I'm no longer a teenager. My excuse is, the author is not either! :DIt channels a a bit Harry Potter but in the end all fantasy novels are fairly similar in plot. So it wasn't a turn off for me.But I do have a problem with one thing in these books and the author in general and that is the number of chapters he has in all his books - there are about 100 chapters (in that ball park, don't remember the exact count) in a book that is 400 something pages. Some chapters are just 2 pages, and between one chapter and the next even the scene hasn't changed! And if you see the chapter title you can guess what's going to happen in it. Not sure why the author chose to write that way and why the publisher went with it. That is a terrible idea.

Thrilling Climax! A perfect example on how to write a book.
This book is an perfect example of how to write a book.Maya’s character arc is beautifully done. Was completely involved with the character through out the story.Perfect example for how to write subplots never came in between but supported the story well.Story flow was done brilliantly starting reminding us of the book1 and ending on where it will go.Climax was really well written. This book will give you a great aftertaste and will give a great feeling of reading an amazing story.Reading Imran Kidwai’s name really thrilled and me think it was going somewhere with Mahabharata quest and after that I read Authors note 😜This is going to be best indian series I have ever read 😊

A compelling sequel and a fast paced read
The story progresses well from the son of bhrigu and is equally fast paced, there were some questions let unanswered in 1st book which were answered over here, some left and hopefully would be answered in upcoming books, and some new questions raised, overall fast paced, the mytho facts well intwined with fiction for a great storyline, of the first book was the buildup then this book definitely sees the characters getting matureOverall highly recommended
