JBL GT5-10 10-Inch Single-Voice-Coil Sub
what is the replacement for my subwoofer that was paper and got got shredded, nice sound I use it for a subwoofer for my TV so itโs never blasting so Iโm not sure itโll be great for loud music. It works great in action movies

It's worth every penny. They hunger for power though
Great bass it brings to the table. Not as hard hitting as a 15 inch. I put 4 of this together and boy do they shake the place. Funny though i'm using them as DJ subwoofers and people specially youngsters love standing by them and also love looking at them and many adults do too. they are fun. This is the way i had them when i put them in the box which was a peavey box. This JBL subs threw them silly peaveys to the ground like an ant being step on by an elephant. The box is heavy but i only have to lift it 3 times. If you need to buy 1 or 3 or 5 just do it price and quality it's worth it and they look good.

They are loud and clear
I hooked these and 6x9speakers up to a new 1200 watt 4 way pioneer amp. For the price these speakers outdo many of the speakers I have had in the past. Great boom for the buck!!!

Okay speakers for car audio
I supposed in the realm of car audio these are great woofers, but I was not impressed. They sound good, don't get me wrong, but they are terribly inefficient. I built two (one for each of two subs) bass reflex enclosures to JBL's specifications. This should have made an already powerful system (~500 true watts RMS) have a much higher apparent loudness than with a sealed box, but it still was no louder than a 250 watt setup with two 8 inch Klipsch woofers taken from a floor-standing F-3 speaker. I spent 4 weeks of late nights after work building a very fancy pair of enclosures for these to go in a 2011 Camaro and was kinda let down. I expected the things to really rock. My reaction is Meh. I'm just glad the friend I built them for is happy with it. Still a big fan of JBL. They make things a lot differently for car audio. If you're in the market, don't let my griping deter you, these are probably better sounding than most competitors in this price range.

Big bang for low cost.
This woofer is perfect for my application. This JBL 10 woofer was impressive right out of the box. I have mounted in a 10 inch slot port box and wow this woofer was moving some air and the frequency response is great. I know the woofer is only going to perform better as it breaks in . I just have to remember not to over power it. If you are looking for good bass performance without breaking the bank this is the ticket . keep in mind that the box enclosure that you use makes great difference and don't over power it . It does a great job . Thank You

Needs power but will impress
Ok so this Lil guy is thirsty an you need to supply the juice an you will be happy no cheap amplifier tried that return an buy better. This lil beast GT5 10in 4ohm Needs 275RMS minimum an it will pump Loud an deep. Pay attention to Rms rate not watts on amplifier pay attention to ohms This thing goes deep an can do quick burst almost cracked my chest lol I'm pumping 500Rms an holy cow all I got to say it's in a vented b-box an it hits definitely buy if you're able to afford to power it very thirsty but rewarded

JBL , SAY NO MORE !!
Excellent sub's. Made really good, big double magnet with rubber cover. They sound awesome. Nice clean, deep bass. I have them hooked up to a Sony 500w x 2(185rms x 2) amp . I would highly recommend these, especially for the price.

I previously ran them with a cheap HiFonics amp that likely did 800 watts on a good day, these would clip and smell easily
These do get decently loud with enough power. I have 4 now in a 5.5 cubic foot enclosure, tuned low with a big port. Does mid 140s all day on 1300w RMS. I previously ran them with a cheap HiFonics amp that likely did 800 watts on a good day, these would clip and smell easily. On 1300 watts they are much louder and do not get as stinky. I knocked off 2 stars because of the shoddy build quality. 3 of 4 of them have had the cone separate from the surround. Out of warranty by only a month on the first sub it happened to, I repaired them all with gel style Gorilla Glue.

Can't beat the price
I got 2 of them in a older sealed jl box and they sound great been enjoying them for a few days now and no issues at all I noticed right away that they are quite hefty for single voice coil I bet they can take cloe to 500 watts rms easy Very easily will update in few moths or if issues come up

Good sounding.
JBL GTS-10 The price was marked down enough that I figured I would pick it up just to experiment with. I took a .8cft prefab and reinforced the internals then added a 3" pvc port about 17" long just for kicks, tuning comes to about 36-37hz, I can extend the port to go lower. I put in in the trunk of the car facing rear ward and powered it with a 1200watt monoblock with the gain set with a dmm to limit voltage to about 270watts rms. The sound is very good, it's a good all around sq sub and sounded surprisingly good for being in an undersized ported box, 4 of these in a custom ported setup would be pretty awesome. Video was just to test flex (14mm one way xmax) and see how the box held up, it does not represent in car performance, people love flex videos though .
