Must have in pantry
Staple in pantry for days Iโm too tired to cook. Wash rice, add water and a can of this mock duck, turn rice cooker on and half hour itโs dinner for under $6 for a family of 3. Add veggies and itโs a one pot dinner

Vegetarian fake meat
Been eating Companion vegetarian products for decades. Less pieces and more broth these days. The price also balloon. Back in the days used to be a competitive Chinese canned vegetarian product under Mei Lin brand.

If it does not look like a duck, and does not move like a duck and does not quack like a duck, it's not at duck.
If you are not already a vegetarian, please lower your expectations on taste. This is a wheat gluten product stored in salt water. It does NOT taste like duck and will not cook like duck. You have to marinate it in something, and being a wheat gluten product, it will absorb the flavor. Also it is already "cooked" so all you are doing is browning it a bit (it cooks as fast as veggies). It's chew is different than veggies and it's nice to have in dishes or skewers. If you want to eliminate meat from your diet, stuff like this will add a nice change of pace and it's healthy to eat. The trick is to know how to marinade it, and for how long to cook it. I keep a bunch of cans in our pantry and like it alot.

Very good meat substitute
Great texture, very "meaty"! Mild flavor. Not the cheapest choice, but worth the price.

It did not agree with my system.
I got sick after just sampling this and would like a refund. I heated it first then I was tossing and turning all night with hypertension didnโt get any rest until late next afternoon after eating soup and sandwich.

They Don't Know How to Ship Cans So They Don't Get Dented
These cans were shipped in a loose plastic bag. And the plastic bag was packed in a big box that had lots of room for those cans to roll around in. 3 of the 6 cans were so dented that I wouldn't even consider using them. The product itself tastes good and has a good texture. They are way too expensive for the size of the can, which I would happily pay, if only they would pack the product so it is useable when it arrives.
