I've bought many bottles of this stuff over the years. I don't use it for its lubrication, rather I use it strictly for cleaning off gunpowder residue off weapons. It's safe on virtually any material on the weapon, and it takes the least amount of patches to clean. I've noticed if I take a decent range session firing around 200 rounds out of my Glock 9mm, it takes about two patches to clean the barrel. I also use it on antiques - it doesn't affect steel or wool at all. It also doesn't smell harsh like other cleaners - so no one else in the room is complaining about the odor. But, I do notice that it will ruin latex by hardening it and causing it to no longer stretch.. So change gloves often.
