Bakes beautiful loaves, easy clean-up--a great value!
My original review, "Stainless steel is great for baking, a breeze to clean, lasts a lifetime, and most importantly, does not leach chemicals into the food. These pans are a great value!" was written on September 18, 2022. Today I happened to read the negative reviews and felt compelled to write again about these pans in Norpro's defense.First, these are "loaf pans"--it does not say bread pan. If/when the sizing as stated is wrong, then that's on Norpro.Second, on the issue of rusting, it is stated right in the product specifications, "Hand washing recommended." Don't blame Norpro if you don't read the instructions. No rolled-edge kitchenware of any stripe should ever be washed in the dishwasher because it will rust. Water collects and sits inside the roll, which brings to mind another point. Stainless Steel is "stain less," NOT "stainless!" Admittedly, I was educated on that last point because of working for Williams-Sonoma for 7 years, where I learned a lot about all the products and much of that knowledge came directly from the manufacturers. I'm not trying to be "uppity" here, just informing that I do have some legitimate knowledge on this subject. Personally though, it really annoys me when people post negative comments about any product when they don't read and/or follow instructions. It's not fair to the manufacturer and their product or helpful to those of us who rely heavily on reviews to make purchasing decisions.

great!!!
very stout. you could knock someone out with this thing lol. i live in a semi and cook alot in my toaster i insulated. been using small aluminum pan but found out alu isnt good for you and always would have to scrape food out. this pan just greased lightly with coconut oil and made cornbread. i literally stuck in fork and pulled big chunk out. zero sticking and even cooking. only prob is with lip only one fits so ill prob have to either cut off or fold over lip.

Fantastic Quality and Performance!
After reading reviews, I purchased two of these pans -- primarily for the purpose of baking bread. I've used them about five or six times now, and could not be more pleased! It took me quite some time to find loaf pans that met my criteria: I prefer light bakeware to dark (the dark always seems to brown my baked goods too much), and I wanted something of decent quality at a decent price. These certainly fit the bill, and I will probably be buying more in the future so that I can bake more loaves at one time.Pros:1. They have a good "weight," and feel very well made (still look brand new after a few months)2. The curved corners & lack of metal seams make them super easy to clean3. My loaves release beautifully from the pans4. They're stainless steel, rather than the more common aluminum (I'm not keen on having aluminum in contact with my food, especially during baking)5. My baked goods come out with beautiful crusts -- not a single over-browned loaf to date!Cons:I really can't think of any, except perhaps that you can find cheaper options (with corresponding lower quality) -- but they're currently the cheapest stainless steel loaf pans on Amazon (when shipping is accounted for), and they're worth every penny in my opinion!

Love my new breadpans
I have baked all the bread for my family for years. i started baking when I was ten years old and I am now seventy. I have used old bread pans that stick and rust and have to be soaked and scrubbed...lots of work...now I have my new stainless steel Norpro bread pans and I absolutely love them...I have three and will have to add three more. Wanted to see how they were before ordering more. I have found that the bottom of the bread doesn't brown as fast as with the old pans, but a little more time takes care of that....they are so easy to clean, I can almost wipe them clean with a paper towel. Nothing sticks with just a light touch of grease. They are perfect for the various breads like banana, cranberry, apple etc. I also make a standing cinnamon "pull apart" loaf, and with all the cinnamon and sugar, most pans would stick and be hard to clean. I very highly recommend these Norpro bread pans. They are strong and beautiful!! Thank you...

Fantastic pan!
I love this pan! I bought a bunch of new stainless steel pans in an attempt to change over to a healthier way of cooking. Some other pans are thin, and some have even rusted. This pan is just lovely! It is such a great weight. I have glass loaf pans that are not the best for cooking with. I line the pan with a small piece of parchment paper, and clean up is a breeze. I don't even need to toss them in the dishwasher!I also have their square pan and the round pan. All of these pans say Made in India vs made in china. I saw in the other reviews that the ones from China are not as good. That was spot on. These are from India and they are very durable. It looks like Norpro has listened to the complaints about the sticky labels. These did not have those horrible, impossible to get off, labels on them. Really great pans.

Norpor Stainless Steel 8.5 Loaf Pan
Vendor processed order and shipping quickly. The pan is very sturdy and has a very high polish. There aren't any seams or sharp angles which is good for easily removing the loaf and cleanup. I wanted stainless steel as I want to avoid aluminum in cooking products, and glass gets too hot, and I still don't trust the commercial 'no-stick' coatings. I didn't give this 5 stars because it was an inch shorter in height than I am used to--although it was stated correctly in the dimensions of the product description. I just didn't think of it until I saw it. However, my first loaf of bread did rise nicely enough, and baked to a light golden color on the crust. I'd recommend this product.
