Fun But A Few Improvements Suggested
We have a reusable advent calendar that we put candy in but I wanted a non-calorie version so I got this sticker advent calendar from Dover because I have several of their coloring books but this looked like something I could use year after a year. The stickers are easy to remove from their sheet and clearly labeled by number but the shape also helps figure out which building goes where. The stickers are also to place on the fold out scene. I had to find a way to adhere the scene to the wall without damaging it and I hope this will mean that I can also then remove that adhesive so I can hang it up next year. While these are stickers they can be peeled off and replaced on their sheet to store. Two of the 25 building land flat on the scene once applied but two were annoying in that one kept rolling up from the bottom while another rolled up from both the bottom and top. I ended up needing to add a piece of clear tape but I hope that will come off as well when I put it away in a few days after Christmas. I was concerned those two piece might fall completely off and be lost which would ruin the scene. Most of the buildings overlap others that you placed on earlier dates this created another small problem. The stickers are all outlined in white so that they cover up a bit more of the previous building or background that I think looks natural. I think a transparent outline would have made it look better.I hope I can use this advent calendar year after year.

Enjoyable and engaging for the family
My girls enjoyed doing this far more than the 'all too common' chocolate treat versions. It was something we looked forward to doing daily and helped in the build-up to Christmas.Basically, it's a large card with a single fold down the middle. You open it to reveal a village setting without any buildings. Instead of the buildings, there are dotted & numbered outlines which correspond to a sticker sheet that accompanies it. You search for the building outline and then also for the corresponding sticker. Daily the richness of the seen increases as these building stickers are added. The quality of the scene and stickers is very high. Some were a little fiddly to remove and if its for young children I'd recommend you watch closely while the stickers are being removed to prevent one of the protruding parts (of the sticker) being accidentally torn. Placing the stickers may benefit from an adult's guiding hand with younger children, but the material used for sticker and card enables them to be lifted and replaced if necessary. We had a lot of fun with it during Christmas 2013 and I have already bought another for 2014. We had a chocolate version as well, but without a doubt, this was far more engaging and enjoyable for everyone (though they did still enjoy eating their chocolate at the same time :) ).

Old Fashioned theme with re-usable stickers
I purchased this Advent calendar for an inexpensive, wrapped, game prize to use at Thanskgiving since December 1st was right around the corner and I just love daily Advent calendars. I try to find prizes that are winter themed, such as Chapstick, hand lotion, cheap holiday music CDs, small winter Lego sets, winter scented candles, holiday books, etc... I really would have liked something more up to date, with brighter colors, but this fit the price point for what I was looking for. I was pleasantly surprised when I got this because, although it has old fashioned pictures, it is really pretty and has a lot of detail. My 5 year old niece actually won this prize and she brought the completed calendar with her to our family Christmas. Her and I spent a few minutes looking at it together and it was a pretty scene. She seemed to really like it, which surprised me since it was old fashioned. The stickers are actually reusable, if you keep the sheets that they came on. It would look nice on a refrigerator. The actual book is very durable and it arrived quickly.

Pretty concept, obviously shortcuts have been made
About 10 years ago I bought this calendar in a little local store. It's a beautiful little Advent village scene and I used and reused it for the following 8 years. Last year I bought my sister and myself a new Advent calendar to replace the old one; however it was a waste of time and money. I wished I'd kept my old one. The new one's stickers kept peeling off and did not stay in place. It is supposed to be used again and again. When I tried to put the stickers back in their original places they would not stay there; it was impossible, so I threw it out.I decided to try again this year and exactly the same thing happened.I have no idea what the manufacturers have done to make this so shoddy and inadequate, but for an annual Advent calendar I'd spend my $8 elsewhere and with better options. If it is only being made as a once-use-only calendar, it should be advertised as such and not re-usable.

Very nice
My 2-year old loved doing this advent calendar. It has stickers, which is a big plus. Our village ended up looking a deal more crooked though. :)Some reviews said they were able to re-use it year after year. I tried peeling the stickers back off, but out of the first 3 2 split and left their sticky side behind, so I threw it away. I don't really mind though, when I was a child I had a different one each year, it was part of the fun.

Good Calendar
This is a really nice advent calendar. My 2 1/2 yr old loved sticking a new house on every morning as we counted down the days to Christmas. I loved the beautiful, yet simple illustrations. I think it really allows your imagination to run wild. I tried peeling up the stickers to reuse next year but the adhesive took the lamination off the picture (so they are no longer sticky). Ah, well... it was fun while it lasted!

My son loves this!
We have had this advent calendar for 4 years, and it is a favorite in our household. The stickers are on a separate sheet with numbers on it, and the village buildings are outlined on the main card. It opens up and gives you a beautiful scene to work with. We have placed the stickers carefully back on the sheet each year to re-use it, and this year it finally gave out.I am back to buy another one. Thanks!

Its pretty good, cheap and cheerful
Its pretty good, cheap and cheerful. It also is reusable. And creates a nice scene. A good alternative to a chocolate advent. Just wish the pictures were a tad more 'jazz hands'y to excite the children more. But it doesn't matter too much

Not the best Advent calendar.....
Ok-ish but expected a better quality product for price paid. Not very exciting as an advent calendar and not sure what age the design is aimed at. Itโs a bit old for young children but wouldnโt necessarily expect older children to like it.

Simple but nice.
It's really only a big card with some stickers, but as with all Advent Calendars it's about building up the picture one day at at time, and this actually looks quiet nice during and after. Best thing is that it's reusable so good for the tight wads like me.

Charming but not very reusable.
This is an interesting twist on the usual advent calendar where you peel and stick the houses onto the advent calendar to build a village. However unlike most advent calendars with little doors this turns out to not be very reusable. In theory you should be able to peel and stick the houses on more than once but in practice they do not function that way. Even the first time, they can tend to fall off the calendar. The price is very good but the reusability is not, so thatโs only three stars.
