I opened the box and followed the directions. I did use the supplied oil for the initial fill. I was not going hunting for ethanol-free gas (10% is standard in my area). I did add fuel additives to the mix to counteract the ethanol. Pulled the start a few times and it fired right up and I turned off the choke after a couple of seconds. It was running and quiet. A little bit of blue smoke on start-up but that is normal. Ran great w/no load. I let it idle a few minutes and inspected for leaks. It looks good. I found a heat gun that put it under load (1400 watts) and plugged it in and turned it on. The generator ramped up its effort (can hear the load change). I let it work with that and continued to monitor. I let it run for about 45-60 minutes with the 1400 watt load. I turned off the load (1400 watt heat gun) and the generator on ECO mode idled down. I let it run for another 5 minutes before I shut it off. I did not use the fuel cut-off, just straight to off. I drained and inspected the oil.... nothing abnormal. I replaced the oil with high-quality full synthetic with the proper viscosity. I can tell you that you should be on a flat surface and have a piece of cardboard under it and some paper towels handy as it can get messy. I also had some brake parts cleaner available for any mess I might make during the oil change. Oil change completed. I fired it back up (started on the first pull). I then did the same thing I did on the first go-around. No leaks, no funny sounds, works great. This time I shut it down with the fuel cut-off (takes a couple of minutes before it dies). I cleaned up my mess, topped off the fuel, and stashed the generator away in my garage knowing it would be ready if I needed it. The whole process took a couple of hrs including cleaning up my mess. This was back in April 2020. On Feb 6 2021 we had a storm roll through with 70mph gusts and the power went out about 1:30 pm. Normally the power does not stay out for long but I'm thinking there are not too many line workers that are going to be able to get much done during the storm. I pulled out the generator and set it up under my patio roof. I retrieved some extension cords from the Christmas lights storage bin and proceeded to see what I could get working. I plugged the TV and cable modem w/cable box into the generator and turned them on.... low and behold, wifi and cable tv work. I made sure to charge all of the electronics (i-pads, phones, rechargeable flashlights, etc.) I was really just checking to see what I could get working because I figured the power would come on shortly. At this point, I really had a minimal load (TV, Cable, Wi-fi, charging some devices), and fortunately, our house has a gas fireplace, gas, stove, and gas water heater. The power did not come back on and it was getting late. I disconnected all consumers (wi-fi, tv, cable box, etc) and plugged the generator into the refrigerator at about 8:30 and it fired right up. You could hear the load on the generator. Plugged TV/Cable/WiFi back in... all worked. The power returned at about 10:30. The little generator worked perfectly. No complaints here.

We love how quiet and how easy this generator is to operate

First, I've owned this for 2 years. Bought it when Ian hit Florida but didn't use it much. Milton knocked out our power and now I've been using the generator for 2 days straight. Fuel consumption is great, about 1 gal per 7 hours (this depends on how heavy the load is your placing on it). It has powered our refrigerator, Wi-Fi, television, a crock pot, and 3 bulb lamp, all while charging multiple devices at the same time and doesn't overload. We have a fairly powerful microwave and the generator overloaded when we tried to power it. It handled our air fryer and ninja ice cream maker with no problems. Be mindful, you need to change the oil after the first 8 hours of use and then every 25 hours thereafter. So buy plenty of bottles of 30 SAE 4 cycle small engine oil if you're power is out for a long time. It takes 14oz per oil change. The oil at 25 hours was pretty black, so it seemed like a good thing to follow the recommended changing times. Also, you are technically not supposed to run this generator continuously. It's for light duty. Your supposed to let it rest for 6 hours after 18 hours of continuous use. I can't do that. I ran it for 18 hours, then rested it for 3 hours. I don't want my fridge and freezer to go more than 3 hours with no power. It's not super noisy but it's also not whisper quiet. It's not bad. Windows open right above it and we could sleep through it. It's super easy to start. Don't over look the gas cap has an on/off setting. If you don't switch it to on when you're running it, the engine will die. The cap on the on setting allows for enough air flow to keep the gas flowing. Cost to run the generator is 3 gallons of gas plus 14oz of oil for 24 hours (current prices that's $15.61 per day). Make sure you drain all the fuel out of it when you store it and it will start right up when you need it in the future. And I wouldn't run gas with ethanol in it, unless I had to. It will work with ethanol but I hate that stuff in small engine. Unfortunately for you 2 years ago I paid $147 less than the current asking price. Yup, there's no inflation whatsoever in our economy.

Really well built, everything as expected or better, and most surprising was that it started after just one single easy pull for the very first time. Runs neat, after one hour of using it am impressed. Will update this tread after 20 hours of usage.
